Drivers can expect lane closures and traffic delays when a project to resurface an approximately eight (8) mile section of Vernon County Route T west of Nevada begins the week of August 28, the Missouri Department of Transportation said.
There are two parts to this project. Contractor crews will begin by rebuilding approximately 0.6 mile of Route T between U.S. Route 54 and the ADM biodiesel plant. After that rebuild is complete, the contractor will add an overlay of new asphalt from the ADM plant south approximately 7.5 miles to Vernon County Route FF.
In addition to the resurfacing, the contractor will install permanent striping and drainage pipes in areas.
Traffic impacts during rebuild of section of Route T:
All lanes of Route T CLOSED for approximately 0.6 mile from U.S. Route 54 south to the ADM biodiesel plant for up to one month
Drivers will be directed along a signed detour using Route 54, Missouri Route 43 and Vernon County Route KK
Access will be provided to residences within the closure
Signs and message boards will alert drivers approaching the work zone
Traffic impacts during asphalt overlay of Route T:
Route T reduced to one lane where crews are working during daytime hours
All lanes of Route T traffic will be OPEN during nighttime hours
Route T drivers will encounter flaggers and/or pilot cars where crews are working. Drivers should wait for the pilot vehicle before proceeding through the work zone or before entering the work zone from a side road.
Signs and message boards will alert drivers approaching the work zones
No signed detours for this portion of the project
Drivers should find alternate routes around the work zones
Check MoDOT’s Traveler Information Map for road closings/traffic impacts
Weather and/or construction delays will alter the work schedule.
