Shirley Keith, 93, formerly of El Dorado Springs, passed away Aug. 28, 2023, in Kansas City, KS. She was born March 15, 1930, in Bethel, KS, to Curtis Shryer and Mamie (Lineback) Shryer.
She was married on April 14, 1951, to Eugene Ray Keith and had three children: Clifford, who passed away in 2005, Larry and Darrell. The family settled in Kansas City, KS. After her husband passed, she moved to El Dorado Springs and called it home for 21 years until she moved back to Kansas City to be closer to her sons.
Shirley was a much-loved daughter and sister in her large family and was preceded in death by her parents; eight brothers: Darrell, Charles “Ray,” Walter, Vernon, Norman, Eugene, Marvin, and Earl Shryer; and her four sisters: Viola Hyatt, Katherine Oldfield, Margaret Gilbert, and Pauline Shryer.
Left behind to cherish her memory are her sister, Ruth Keith; sons, Larry and Darrell Keith; five grandchildren: Lindsey, Holly, Staci, Daniel and Darren; two great-grandchildren, Sloane and Josie, and many extended family members.
Service for Shirley Keith were held Friday, Sept. 1, at 1:00 p.m. at Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home. Interment followed at Love Cemetery near El Dorado Springs.
Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association and left at the funeral home.
