Arrests and Reports
Sheriff Lee Hilty reported deputies made arrests and took multiple reports during the week of August 22, 2023 through August 28, 2023

August 22, 2023- St. Clair County deputies attempted to make a traffic stop on Northbound 13 Highway and Truman Road in Osceola. Vehicle pulled away and led the deputies on a high-speed chase into Henry County. With assistance of Henry County, the vehicle was stopped and Garion Peoples was arrested. Garion is being charged with Resisting Arrest/Detention/Stop by Fleeing-Creating a Substantial Risk of Serious Injury/Death to Any Person, Endangering the Welfare of a Child Creating Substantial Risk-1st Degree-1st Offense-No Sexual Contact, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm-Dangerous Felon, Driving While Revoked/Suspended, and Armed Criminal Action. Bond is $25,000 cash surety.

August 22, 2023- St. Clair County deputies arrested Terry Johnson at the Jackson County Jail on a St. Clair County warrant for Failure to Appear. Bond is $25,000 cash only.

August 22, 2023- St. Clair County deputies received a call for service at the St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office for a report of an ex-parte violation. Report was taken.

August 22, 2023- St. Clair County deputies made a county line transfer of Thomas Simms for a St. Clair County warrant for Resisting/Interfering with Arrest, Detention or Stop. Bond is $5,000 cash surety.

August 23, 2023- St. Clair County deputies responded to Northeast Private Road in Lowry City for a domestic in progress. Cathryn Hertlein was arrested and charged with Domestic Assault-3rd Degree and Domestic Assault-4th Degree-1st or 2nd Offense.

August 23, 2023- St. Clair County deputies arrested Corey Troxel at the St. Clair County Jail on a St. Clair County warrant for Trafficking Drugs or Attempt-1st Degree, Tampering with a Motor Vehicle-1st Degree, Resisting Arrest/Detention/Stop by Fleeing. Bond is $35,000 cash surety.

August 23, 2023- St. Clair County deputies arrested John Compton at the Greene County Jail on a St. Clair County warrant for Domestic Assault-4th Degree. Bond is $5,000 cash surety.

August 24, 2023- St. Clair County deputies responded to Northwest 1000 Road in Appleton City for a report of a deceased person. Subject died of natural causes.

August 24, 2023- St. Clair County deputies responded to Appleton City for a report of a careless and imprudent driver. Arthur Uphoff was arrest and transported to the St. Clair County Jail.

August 26, 2023- St. Clair County deputies responded to Southeast 13 Highway in Collins for a domestic disturbance. Aaron Lee was arrested and charges pending for Domestic-2nd Degree.

August 26, 2023- St. Clair County deputies responded to West 6th Street in Lowry City for a report of a dog bite.

August 27, 2023- St. Clair County deputies received a call referencing to a stolen vehicle out of Deepwater. Henry County towed the vehicle.

August 28, 2023- St. Clair County deputies received a call regarding trespassing on Southeast 400 Road in Osceola. Report was taken.

August 28, 2023- St. Clair County deputies responded to Southwest 300 Road in El Dorado Springs for a report of a vehicle fire. Vehicle was a 2012 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid.

August 28, 2023- St. Clair County deputies responded to Cedar Street in Osceola for a domestic assault. After an altercation, Richard Oconnor was arrested and being charged with Domestic Assault-1st Degree-Serious Physical Injury and Resisting/Interfering with Arrest for a Felony.
