In the case of all arrests, it must be remembered that the charge is merely an accusation and all defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.

Law enforcement activities

The El Dorado Springs Police Department responded to 76 requests for assistance this past week, Sept.11-173. The requests were as follows:

Ambulance Assists 1, Animal Control 11, Assist Other Agencies 16, All Escorts 3, Nuisance 3, All Other Requests for Assistance 42, Summons 5.

Anyone interested in adopting  animals from the City Pound should contact Officer Richards, animal control officer at 876-2313.

Found Property is available for viewing, Monday through Saturday, by appointment only. A detailed description of the property you’re wishing to view must be specified when making the appointment. Found Property is subject to disposal after 90 days based on value of the property if unclaimed by owner.

Police Report

On September 12, 2023, officers responded to 109 East US 54 Highway concerning a peace disturbance.  Subjects were identified, a report taken and the investigation continues.

On September 12, 2023, officers responded to 108 East Marshall concerning a domestic disturbance. The investigation resulted in the arrest of Christian I. Pride, 26, of El Dorado Springs, for the probable cause of Throwing Missiles and Objects.  He was released on summons pending a court appearance.

On September 13, 2023, officers responded to 121 West Fields concerning a Larceny. The investigation revealed the theft of items from a vehicle. A report taken and the investigation continues.

On September 13, 2023, officers responded to 1301 East Industrial Parkway concerning an Ex-Parte Violation. A suspect has been identified, a report taken and the investigation continues.

On September 13, 2023, officers responded to 401 North St. James concerning property damage. The investigation revealed damage to a windshield. A suspect has been identified, a report taken and the investigation continues.

On September 14, 2023, officers responded to 510 East Gentry concerning a Domestic disturbance. The investigation resulted in the arrest of David F. Crane, 37, of El Dorado Springs, for the probable cause of Domestic Assault 4th Degree and Lacy R. Jordan, 36, El Dorado Springs, for a Cedar County Warrant, charging her with Failure to Appear on the original charge of Operating  Vehicle without a Valid License with a $500 cash bond. Crane was released on summons pending a court appearance.  Jordan was transferred to the Cedar County Jail pending bond and a court appearance.

On September 15, 2023, officers responded to 303 South St. James concerning a request to speak to an officer. The investigation resulted in the arrest of Kenneth R. Fleener, 45, of El Dorado Springs, for an El Dorado Springs Municipal Warrant, charging him with Driving While Revoked with a $431.50 bond. He was transferred to the Cedar County Jail pending bond and a court appearance.

On September 17, 2023, officers arrested Chance L. Bettis, 23, of El Dorado Springs, for the probable cause of Driving While Intoxicated. He was released on summons pending a court appearance.
