Carl Calvin Schuchman

Carl Calvin Schuchman, 83, the son of Carl and Connie Schuchman,  was born May 7, 1940  in Ponca City, OK, and passed away on Oct. 13, 2023 at Cox South in Springfield.

Carl married Betty Ann Martin on April 6, 1965. He was a devoted father to Randy Cameron (Branson), Robert Schuchman (Branson) and Michelle Schuchman (Olathe), and spent countless hours making memories with their grandchildren: Christina, Dana, and J.R. (Randy’s kids), and Rob, Missy, Dustyand Jessica (Robert’s kids).

Carl was a hard worker, often working sun-up to sun-down. He and Betty ran a store in Cedar Springs for many years before moving into town. Carl had a business doing electrical, refrigeration and air conditioning in addition. Carl’s Electric served this area for more than 50 years before his health required him to retire.

He loved to tinker, and his hobby of remote-controlled airplanes brought a lot of enjoyment. He loved to go to the airport and fly his planes.

In January of 2011, Betty lost her battle with Alzheimer’s. Carl met and married Delores Yarnell later that year. With that union, Carl acquired stepchildren: Dale Lasley, Jeannie Nikodim and Janet Lasley.

Carl was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Betty Schuchman; brother, Loyd Schuchman and sister, Susan Walker.

He is survived by his wife, Delores Schuchman; brother, Joe Landon; sister, Mary Huff; children: Randall, Robert and Michelle; stepchildren: Dale, Jeannie and Janet; multiple grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and a host of friends and loyal customers.

Carl has been cremated, and at his request, there was no memorial service.
