As of April 1, 2024, the El Dorado Springs Police Department will be making a change to the hours that citizens can adopt or retrieve their beloved pets from the city Animal Shelter. The hours will be from 8 A.M. to 4 P.M. Monday thru Friday except on holidays. Appointments can be made with the Animal Control/Code Enforcement Officer to provide additional times on an as needed basis. The El Dorado Springs Police Department is in the process of filling the vacant Animal Control/Code Enforcement Officer position.

Here are the costs that are associated with the Animal Shelter.

Animal Adoption- $20

Animal Surrender-$30

Impound fees- 1st day is $5, days after $3

This change is to allow for Police Officers to focus more on their patrol duties and assist citizens in their time of need. Officers will still respond after hours to animals at large or to retrieve animals that need to go to the pound.

Respectfully:

Brett Dawn, Chief of Police
