Bulldogs 1 Odessa 7

Bulldogs 6 Adrian 8

Bulldogs 3 Midway 7

It was a tough week of baseball this week for the Bulldogs at the Holden Tournament.  I thought we had some well played baseball at times, but were very inconsistent. We were up 6-1 in the Adrian game through five innings.  Unfortunately we as a team fell apart in the last inning.  We once again did not get the job done against Midway Friday.

When you make as many physical and mental errors as we did this week, it is hard to win games. KanDyn Ewert had his best two outings of the year.  He was able to hit spots and get his curveball over enough to keep the opponent off balance. He also collected seven hits in three games. Hunter Frame threw five solid innings against Adrian only giving up one run with six strikeouts. We also had some guys come off the bench and contribute.  Caysen Stephens and Andy Hall were very productive which will hopefully create some healthy competition throughout the remainder of the season.

We have another week of tough games this week against Liberal, Warsaw, Versailles, and Clever. I hope that this week got everyone’s attention. We have got a lot of things that we have to fix, but the good news is all of it can be corrected.  We have got to make routine plays and stop the bonehead baserunning mistakes. My hope is that we will have a really good week of baseball before our Conference Tournament starts next week.
