A Walker woman was killed Saturday night, June 16, in a two-vehicle collision on Hwy. 54 at the eastern edge of Nevada. The Missouri Highway Patrol reported that Mary L. Wallace, 80, was pronounced dead at the scene by Vernon County Coroner David Ferry shortly after 9:30 p.m.

Trooper Justin Leemasters reported the collision happened when the Ford Taurus Wallace was driving made a left turn into the path of an east-bound Mercury Mariner driven by Tiffany A. Scheer, 17, Nevada. Scheer was taken to Nevada Regional Medical Center for treatment of a minor injury.

Hwy. 54 was blocked for a time because of the collision that happened in the vicinity of Johnson Grain.
