Absentee voting begins

Absentee ballots for the Aug. 7, 2012, General Primary Election are now available.

You may vote absentee in the Cedar County Clerk’s office, Room 3, in the Cedar County Courthouse or you may request absentee ballots by mail or fax. Send absentee ballot requests to Peggy Kenney, Cedar County clerk, 113 South Street, Stockton, MO 65785 or fax your request to 417/276-3461. Requests must include name, phone number, address to mail the ballot to, reason for voting absentee, party ballot (Democratic, Republican, Libertarian or Constitution) and the signature of each person requesting an absentee ballot.

The deadline to register to vote for the Aug. 7, General Primary Election is Wednesday, July11, 2012. The County Clerk’s office will be open until 5 p.m. on that day for your convenience.
