Comments on Mr. Mark Rogers letter. If the current president needs the vote of those receiving “food stamps,” He (the president) missed the boat. In fact the poor, working and non-working vote at the lowest percent of any group with business owners, seniors and retired military being among the groups with the highest percentage.
I am on the front lines in the fight against hunger in Cedar County and see the overwhelming need as well as the occasional abuse which I believe are a very small number when compared to the overall picture.
Don’t blame the caseworker or government bureaucrats. Change will only happen when we demand that our elected representatives make changes that put people back to work and get this economy jump started and moving forward.
Until that happens, volunteer at your food bank or join a food drive, become a home delivered meals driver. If you can, make a cash contribution to a food back. See for yourself this need and when you see the abuses call them in.
