Jewell and Helen Ellerman and Connie Locke had dinner at Dave’s Diner in El Dorado then Helen went to the doctor and they went shopping on Monday, Sept. 10.

Ruth Ijams met her daughter, Peggy O’Brien, of Grandview in Adrian Friday, Sept. 14, to visit.

Those having dinner at Madalyn’s Kitchen after church Sunday, Sept. 16, were Jewell and Helen Ellerman, Jeanie O’Brien and Ruth Ijams.

The Schell City/Harwood United Methodist Women will work in the Schell City United Methodist Church basement on the south side of the church on Tuesday morning from 9-11 a.m. to get ready for their fall rummage and bake sale on Oct. 5-6. If you have anything to donate and there is no one at the church, you can call Pastor Locke at 432-3421, Helen Ellerman at 432-3402 or Ruth Ijams at 432-3464.

John and Frances Lewis are doing pretty good after returning home a couple of weeks ago from the Appleton City Nursing Home. They look forward to calls and visits from friends.

Church service was held at the Harwood Baptist Church Sunday, Sept. 16, with Brother Cliff Bennett.

Church service was held at the Schell City United Methodist Church Sunday, Sept. 16. Pastor Connie Locke went to Jefferson City for a seminar so Jeanie O’Brien, lay pastor, had the sermon “I Had Just A Miracle” taken from Mark 9:14-29. Sunday School was held before church. Jeanie O’Brien led the lesson “Faith Is Endurance” taken from Hebrews 12:1-11.

Pastor Connie Locke attended a Conv, United Methodist Church pastor meeting at Lee’s Summit Tuesday, Sept. 11-12. She attended a meeting at Kansas City Saturday, Sept. 15, then went to Jefferson City Sunday, Sept. 16, to the Performing Arts Center to hear Brian McLuren. They had a worship service Sunday morning then he held a question and answer service in the afternoon. It was hosted by the United Methodist churches, the Baptist churches and the Presbyterian churches.
