A good major time was had by all

Saturday evening, the grandchildren of Linda Majors hosted a birthday party for her at the home of Linda and Bob. They played Pin-the-tail-on-the-Donkey, had a hula hoop contest and served snow cones, slushies, cake and ice cream. Attending were the grandchildren, Madyson and Mason Majors, Alexia and Maleia Majors, the adults-Bob and Linda Majors, Brad and LouAnn Majors, Chad and Jenny Majors, Mary Ann Bell and Jerry and Mary Sanderson. A good time was had by all.

Tuesday, visitors of Bob and Laura Clinton were Tracy Washburn and Jodee and Jeff Fanning. Visiting in the Clinton home Sunday afternoon were George and Phyllis Liles of Horton.

The Bruce family has suffered a double loss this week. Sympathy is expressed on the death of their mother, Nola Bruce, and brother, Chester Lee Bruce, Jr.

Frank Weisensee had the honor of driving a vehicle in the Walker Fun Day Parade with his granddaughter, Abby Gilpin, who reigned as queen, another granddaughter, Katrina Gilpin, was princess and yet another granddaughter, Amber Weisensee, was reigning princess from 2010-11.

Linda Gundy was accompanied by Patty Gammon to Chicago where they attended the wedding of Linda’s nephew, Ryan Cragg.

It has been a busy week for Marty and Rich Patton. On Thursday, Rich and Marty met her parents, Don and Edith Stockstill, for lunch to celebrate Edith’s birthday. On Sunday, they and Don and Edith attended the 25th wedding anniversary party for her cousin, Laurie (Stockstill) and Delbert Bybee.

A family reunion was held Saturday at the Patton home. Marty wrote:

“Dec. 15 this year will be the 100th anniversary of the marriage of Henry Leroy Hickman to Lena Leota Armbrust and on Saturday all seven of their grandchildren met at our house for a generation photograph. The grandchildren are: Barbara Ann (Hickman) Burdette of Republic; Martha Ann (Stockstill) Patton of Walker; Marvin Neal Hensley of Monett; Patti Lorraine (Hickman) Russell of Walker; Wayne Allen Hensley of El Dorado Springs; Kathryn Deanna (Hickman) Reynolds of Schell City; and Roger Lynn Hensley of El Dorado Springs. In addition to all of the grandchildren, Roy and Lena’s daughters, Lola Irene (Hickman) Hensley of El Dorado Springs and Martha Edith (Hickman) Stockstill, of Walker, were there and joined in spirit with their brother, Charles Melvin Hickman, who passed away April 27 this year. Thank you to all my cousins who made this possible and their spouses, kids and grandkids as well!”

Linda and Harry Hardy of Kansas City and Suzanne Prough visited Elnora Wallace Saturday.

John and Patty Hallam went to Kansas City on Thursday through Saturday to celebrate the September birthdays of Esther and Nora Hallam who both turn 3 and Ruth Hallam who turns 1.

Donna Davidson and Janet Conners attended the 25th wedding anniversary of Delbert and Laurie Bybee at Tiffin Baptist Church.

An auction was held Saturday in Walker at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Jim Sprenkle who have moved from the community.

Jerry Bartlett visited Charles Foreman Saturday afternoon.

Visiting Bob and Jane Hutchison this week were Bobby and Karen Hutchison of Walnut Grove, Kent and Brenda Hutchison of Camdenton, Debbie and Denny Wallace and granddaughter, Jayna Hardy, Chas Hutchison, Bryson, Addison, Colin and Cale McConnaughy and Willa Morgan all of Nevada.

Charles and I had Sunday dinner with Christine and Corey Graham. Carter Foreman spent Friday with us and guests for supper that evening were Chet Foreman and Christine and Corey Graham.

Jenise Burch has enjoyed some time in Colleyville, TX, where she helped her daughter and family, Laura and Josh Willson, Jackson and Reed, move to a new home.
