Dains Fish Farm
We have campers fishing with trotlines using goldfish and shad.
One group got a 23 lb. blue. The other group got two nice flatheads in the 30 lbs. range.
We can’t keep live shad. That’s mostly what they want. We have goldfish and perch.

Fishing is not too shabby.
We went Friday night in the Osage down by Osceola. We caught five on rod and reel, the biggest a 23 lb. blue. They hit on live shad.
Crappie are biting about everywhere – in ponds and in the Osage up by Monegaw.
Deer season started with bow. I heard of one by Blackjack that scored 150.

Riverside Bait & Canoe
Fishing is not much – an occasional catfish.
We haven’t seen any otters for awhile.
We haven’t made any progress yet on saving the dam. We have some other options. Somebody said to give it to Parks and Recreation and they have to take care of it because it’s on the Register of Historic Places. And they have a ton of money to do so.
We are investigating that a little bit before we do too much.

I haven’t heard of anybody catching anything.
The board still says that crappie and walleye are 22 ft. deep on gravel points.
I had some fishermen come in this morning that didn’t have anything.
