Suspect in custody on 4th arrest attempt

On afternoon Saturday afternoon, Sept. 29, a motor vehicle accident was reported at Highways CC and 32. A State Trooper and Cedar County deputies responded. While working the accident, they discovered an arrest warrant out of Cass County for one of the subjects in the accident. During the investigation this subject fled on foot into a wooded area and was able to escape capture at that time.

The male subject was spotted later in the same area and fled from officers again. Later this same evening information of this male subject was at a local farmhouse and had used the phone. Deputies and a Trooper responded to the area. The male subject fled the house and was tackled by Deputy King. The male subject resisted and fled into the woods. Troopers and deputies searched the area.

Later this same evening a suspicious person was stopped and detained by Deputy Kevin Lowe. During this stop it was found that this person was coming to pick up the wanted male. This area was being searched by deputies, Highway Patrol, Barton County K-9 Unit and a Missouri Conservation Agent.

About 10:45 p.m. while working in the Filley area, officers spotted the wanted male subject. Two troopers, Sheriff Starbuck and Deputy Tim Barrett took the suspect into custody without incident.

Jeremiah T. Denson, a 22-year-old male from Pleasant Hill, is being held on a Cass County warrant on a drug-related charges and pending resisting arrest charges in Cedar County.
