RESTAURANT TO OPEN NEXT SPRING – Community members gathered at 1403 S. Hwy 32 South Hwy 32 on Thursday, Nov. 16, to break ground for the new Pappy’s Restaurant. Owner Stan Benton said his dad was a cook in the Navy for 27 years and always wanted to have his own restaurant, but never got the chance. Stan’s dad’s nickname was Pappy. According to General Contractor Paul Miller who is in charge of construction, it will be at least 120 days before the restaurant opens.

Benton said that his brother, Steve Benton, who taught math in El Dorado Springs in the 70’s, is also a part of Pappy’s. “Marvin Rosbrugh is my father-in-law. We wanted to continue what he started like helping people go to college. Maybe we can help some of these kids by giving them a job,” Benton said.
