The OATS Statewide Board of Directors held their last meeting of the year in Columbia on Nov. 28. The following individuals were elected as officers for 2018:

* President: Nolan McNeill, Cassville.

* Vice-President: Mel Sundermeyer, Holts Summit.

* Secretary/Treasurer: Don Reed, Salisbury.

OATS has been governed by a volunteer board of directors since the company started in 1971. At the Nov. 28 meeting, the Board reviewed the Annual Report which showed during fiscal year 2017 OATS buses traveled 13,957,983 miles and provided over 1.4 million trips. Last year more than 40% of the transportation provided was for employment, followed by 17% for medical transportation. Essential shopping, business errands, education and nutrition make up the rest of the service delivery.

Headquartered in Columbia, MO, OATS is a not-for-profit corporation providing specialized transportation for senior citizens, people with disabilities and the rural general public. The organization serves 87 Missouri counties with a staff of 750 employees- 22% of which are Veterans. The home office is located in Columbia with regional offices and satellite offices located throughout the state.
