STILL PLAYING THE PIANO – Lillie Marie Lutes was born on Oct. 11, 1909, to Annie and Henry Lutes in a log cabin on her grandparent’s farm just south of Roscoe. She graduated from Roscoe High School in 1929. Lillie gave her life to the Lord at the age of 14. Lillie married Pete Francis in 1934. They enjoyed living on the Francis Sac River Farm for 29 years until they moved to El Dorado Springs in 1962. She taught at the Green Valley School, Riverview School and El Dorado Springs School. After retiring from teaching, she gave piano lessons out of her house. Lillie has enjoyed being an active member of our community for all these years.
FIVE ‘LIVING’ GENERATIONS – Grace Mae Overton was born on a farm near Virgil City, to Lizzie and Jesse Overton on Oct. 11, 1909. She attended El Dorado Springs School. Grace was married to Raymond Debler for 50 years. Together they had one daughter, Wanda. Grace has two grandchildren, Kay Rethemeyer and Jackie Kinnamon; two great-grandchildren, Robin Rethemeyer Knowles and Rustin Rethemeyer; and two great-great-grandchildren. Grace is very proud to be a part of five “living” generations.
