In the case of all arrests, it must be remembered that the charge is merely an accusation and all defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.

On October 1, 2018, officers responded 400 S. Ohio Street concerning a reported larceny. The investigation revealed the theft of an electric meter. Suspects have been identified, a report was taken, and the investigation is continuing.

On October 2, 2018, officers arrested Wendy A. Gruber, 37, of El Dorado Springs, charging her with Driving While Suspended, Displaying the Wrong License Plates, Failure to Maintain Insurance, and Caring an Unlawfully Concealed Weapon. She was released on summonses pending a court appearance.

On October 2, 2018, officers responded to 200 E. Twyman Street concerning a reported theft from a motor vehicle. The investigation revealed the theft of a yellow and black, Champion, 1500 watt generator and a small black purse with all of its contents. A report was taken and the investigation is continuing.

On October 3, 2018, officers responded to 313 W. Pine Street concerning a reported disturbance. A report was taken and the incident was handled by the officer.

On October 3, 2018, officers responded to 1401 S. Park Street concerning a reported larceny.  The investigation revealed the theft of a small, brown plaque, a blossom bucket, sunglasses, and Trident chewing gum. A suspect has been identified, a report was taken, and the investigation is continuing.

On October 4, 2018, officers responded to 118 West Highway 54 concerning a reported order of protection violation.  The investigation resulted in the arrest of Nicholas D. Mitchell, 27, of El Dorado Springs, charging him with Violation of an Adult Order of Protection. He was released on summons pending a court appearance.

On October 5, 2018, officers arrested Jacob Patalsky, 37, of El Dorado Springs, for an active Vernon County Warrant charging him with Failure to Appear, on the original charge of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, with a cash only bond of $258.50.  Officers also issued Patalsky a summons for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. On October 6, 2018, officers served Patalsky with an El Dorado Springs Municipal Court Warrant charging him with Failure to Appear, on the original charges of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Property Damage, and Stealing, with a cash or surety bond of $1,706.00. He was transferred to Vernon County Sheriff’s office pending bond or a court appearance.

On October 5, 2018, officers arrested Melissa D. Coonts, 51, of El Dorado Springs, for an active Cedar County Felony Warrant charging her with three counts of Forgery, with a cash only bond of $1,500.00.  She was transferred to the Cedar County Sheriff’s Office pending bond or a court appearance.

On October 5, 2018, officers arrested Joseph M. Burnett, Jr., 41, of El Dorado Springs, for an active Vernon County Felony Warrant charging him with Probation Violation, on the original charge of 2nd Degree Burglary, with no bond.  He was transferred to the Vernon County Sheriff’s Office pending a court appearance.

On October 6, 2018, officers responded to 108 S. Grand concerning a reported domestic disturbance. The investigation resulted in the arrest of Maureen M. Hagerty, 56, of El Dorado Springs, charging her with Third Degree Domestic Assault.  She was released on summons pending a court appearance. This investigation is continuing.

On October 7, 2018, officers responded to 155 E. US 54 Highway concerning a reported larceny. The investigation revealed the theft of a cellular telephone. A report was taken and the investigation is continuing.

On October 7, 2018, officers responded to 512 S. Summer concerning a reported larceny.  The investigation revealed the theft of a turquoise bracelet and a turquoise necklace.  Juvenile suspects have been identified and the investigation is continuing.
