In the case of all arrests, it must be remembered that the charge is merely an accusation and all defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.

On May 6, 2019, officers arrested John J. Cox, 37, of El Dorado Springs, for a Bates County Felony Warrant charging him with Failure to Appear on the original charge of Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, with a $15,000.00 bond. He was transferred to Bates County Jail pending bond and a court appearance.

On May 7, 2019, officers arrested Matthew J. Watts, 38, for a Cedar County Felony Warrant charging him with Larceny, Stealing $750.00 or more and four counts of Forgery, with a $25,000.00 bond. He was released on bond pending a court appearance.

On May 7, 2019, officers arrested David T. Smith, 22, for a Vernon County Warrant charging him with Failure to Appear, on the original charge of Expired License Plates and No Operator’s License, with a $796.60 cash bond. He was released on his own recognizance pending a court appearance.

On May 9, 2019, officers responded to 800 North Main, Apartment 25, concerning a motor vehicle theft. The investigation revealed the theft of a gold, 1995, Mercury Cougar, which was later recovered. The investigation also revealed the theft of small wallet, including all of its contents and $100.00 in cash. A report taken, a suspect has been identified, and the investigation continues.

On May 9, 2019, officers responded to 301 North Park concerning a reported motor vehicle theft. The investigation revealed the theft of a black, 2002, Yamaha XV 1600, Motorcycle. The motorcycle was later recovered in an empty lot near 301 North Park. A report taken and the investigation continues.

On May 10, 2019, officers responded to 1609 South Jackson concerning a reported burglary and larceny. The investigation revealed the theft of miscellaneous costume jewelry and prescription medications. A report taken and the investigation continues.

On May 10, 2019, officers responded to 1109 South Forest concerning a reported burglary. A report taken and the investigation continues.

On May 11, 2019, officers responded t 300 East US 54 Highway, Mike and Joe’s,  concerning a reported larceny. The investigation resulted in the arrest of Kenneth G. Worthington, 65, of EL Dorado Springs, charging him with Stealing. He was released on summons pending a court appearance.

On May 11, 2019, officers responded to 509 East Gentry concerning a reported larceny and property damage. The investigation revealed the theft of Missouri License Plate 25H9CU, a black and red tool bag containing miscellaneous hand tools, and older cell phone, and a pair of Muck boots. The investigation also revealed damage to the rear sliding window latch and damage to the ignition switch of a Dodge Ram 2500 pick up truck. A report taken and the investigation continues.

On May 11, 2019, officers responded to 200 McCrary Circle, Apartment 4, concerning a reported trespassing. The investigation resulted in the arrest of Louis M. Stockdale, 26, of El Dorado Springs, charging him with Trespassing and for a Vernon County Felony Warrant charging him with Failure to Appear on the original charge of Non-Support, with a $600.00 cash bond. He was transferred to the Vernon County Jail pending bond and a court appearance.

On May 12, 2019, officers arrested Veronica B. Roberts, 17, for Minor in Possession of Alcohol and Person Under 18 in Possession of Tobacco. She was released on summonses pending a court appearance.
