In the case of all arrests, it must be remembered that the charge is merely an accusation and all defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.

Oct 23 – Arrest: Shayla G. Sloan, 22, of El Dorado Springs, for a Cedar County warrant, charging her with failure to appear on the original charge of possession of drug paraphernalia. She was transferred to Cedar County jail pending bond and a court appearance.

Oct 23- officers responded to the intersection of South Summer and East Joe Davis concerning a subject lying partially in the street. Upon arrival officers identified the subject as Brandon S. Keith, 34, of El Dorado Springs. He was unresponsive with injuries to his head.  Officers requested an ambulance. Keith was transported to Cedar County Memorial Hospital. He was later transferred to Mercy Hospital in Springfield for treatment of a gunshot wound to his head. Keith succumbed to his injuries.  A report taken and the investigation continues.

Oct 24 – Arrest: David T. Smith, 21, of El Dorado Springs, for a Nevada Municipal warrant, charging him with failure to appear on the original charges of expired license plates and no valid operator’s license, with a $689.40 cash bond. He was released on his own recognizance pending a court appearance.

Oct 24 – Officers responded to 805 North Jackson, El Dorado Springs Residential Care, concerning a reported assault.  The investigation resulted in the arrest of Edward E. Whitter, 57, of El Dorado Springs, charging him with assault. He was released on summons pending a court appearance.

Oct 26 -Arrest: Gary R. Norval, 34, of El Dorado Springs, charging him with driving while intoxicated, resisting arrest and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was released on summonses pending a court appearance.

Octr 27 – Officers responded to 200 West McCrary Circle concerning a reported larceny. The investigation revealed the theft of a cell phone.  A suspect has been identified, a report taken and the investigation continues.

Oct 29 – Officers responded to 508 South Grand concerning a reported assault. A suspect has been identified, a report taken and the investigation continues.
