The St. Clair County Commission met Monday, Aug. 28, with Robert Salmon, presiding commissioner; Leroy Strope, north commissioner; Gerald Williams south commissioner; Debbie Peden, county clerk and Marian McCaslin administrative assistant present.

The Commission and Road and Bridge Supervisor Cole Cochran discussed mowing, road conditions, motor graders and brush cutters locations.

A local citizen telephoned to report a need for mowing along NE 251 Rd.

A concerned citizen was in regarding road repair and requesting gravel for NE 800 Rd.

Lindsey Chaffin, representing Great River Associates, was in with proposed plans regarding bridge replacement on NE 1270 Rd. A request was received regarding road conditions on NE 650 Rd and NE 301 Rd. It was related that the motor grader should be in this area in the next few days.

Commissioner Strope gave a report on the West Central meeting he attended last week.

The Commission and Road and Bridge Supervisor Cole Cochran discussed culverts, road conditions and motor graders locations. Discussed were locations of brush cutters – North side cutters are located in the Ohio area and south side cutters are located in the Rainey area.

At 10:55 a.m. Presiding Commissioner Salmon made a motion to go into Executive Session to discuss Auditor’s Exit Meeting authorized by RSMo 610.021, Sub-section 17. Motion passed by vote: Presiding Commissioner Salmon (Yes), Commissioner Strope (Yes).

Presiding Commissioner Salmon made a motion to approve Land Commissioner’s Sale to Patrick Glunt and Pamela Glunt for Lot 7, Block 56, Plat 13 of Twin Oaks Harbor for a selling price of $333.48. Motion carried.

Presiding Commissioner Salmon mentioned fences for the A/C units at the courthouse. It was decided to wait until all Commissioners were present before proceeding further.

Commissioner met Wednesday, Sept. 6, with all present.

As September is National Senior Center Month, Judy Stephens was in to discuss with the Commissioner home delivery meals.

David Knight, St. Clair County Public Administrator, was in to discuss the auditor’s report on permanent storage space for records and office space for the Public Administrator.

Sheridan Garman-Neeman was in to report she has been selected as Interim Assistant Director and Kristi Kelly as Interim Director for Kaysinger Basin Regional Planning Commissioner effective Oct. 1, 2017.

Sales Tax Revenues received for July 2017, were $32,794.37. Sales Tax Revenues were down $6,516.80 compared to one year ago.

Commissioner Williams was unable to attend the meeting; however, he telephoned and spoke with the Commission.

Presiding Commission Salmon made a motion to approve Land Commissioner’s sale to Gregory Ballard for Lots 34 and 35, Block 63, Plat 16 of Twin Oaks Harbor for a selling price of $450, and Land Commissioner’s Sale to Lori D. Dunbar for lot 31, Block 73, Plat 19 of Twin Oaks Harbor for a selling price of $365. Motion carried.
