The St. Clair County Commission met Wednesday, Jan. 16, with Robert Salmon, presiding commissioner; Leroy Strope, north commissioner; Gerald Williams, south commissioner; Debbie Peden, county clerk and Marian McCaslin, administrative assistant present.

Road and Bridge Supervisor Cole Cochran and the Commission discussed motor graders locations, ordering and installing pipe and road conditions.

Teresa Heckenlively, St. Clair County Economic Developer, met with the Commission. They reviewed the Farm to Fork Summit which is a highlight on food systems. The program is to inspire now work and help people make connections to strengthen the work in our region’s food security. Also discussed were the two ribbon cutting ceremonies which were held last week.

The Commission and Budget Officer Debbie Peden discussed and reviewed budgets for Year 2019. The Commission met with the following Elected Officials to discuss year 2019 budgets: County Collector and County Recorder.

The Commission discussed deck replacement for Bridge #1460017 on NW 750 Rd.

Year 2019 budget hearing with the Commissioners and County Clerk/Budget Officer Debbie Peden was held at 10 a.m. Also attending the meeting were Reporter Brandy Bourland, Recorder Pat Terry, Treasurer Rhonda Shelby, Collector Pam Guffey and Assessor George Lysinger.

Presiding Commissioner Salmon stated that the County will implementing GIS (Geographic Information System) in which part of the cost will be in the budget this year and part in the next year budget. Salmon also stated that we have a great bunch of elected officials.

Commission met Monday, Jan. 28, with all present.

The Commissioners and Road and Bridge Supervisor Cole Cochran met and discussed pipe installation, rock and rock quarries.

Commissioner Strope made a motion to approve County Budgets as presented by County Clerk/Budge Officer Debbie Peden. Motion passed by vote.

The Commissioner signed the approved budgets for Year 2019.
