St. Clair County Commission

The St. Clair County Commission met Monday, March 25, with Robert Salmon, presiding commissioner, Leroy Strope, north commissioner, Gerald Williams, south commissioner and Debbie Peden, county clerk present.

Local constituent was in regarding Private Rd. off of SW 200.

Commissioners met with John Neale regarding putting him back to work on a part time basis with the Road and Bridge Department.

Lindsay Chaffin with Great River Engineering spoke with the commissioners regarding the bridge project on NW 750.

Raysha Tate met with the commissioners to present the 2018 annual report of the Missouri University Extension.

Commissioner Williams made a motion to approve the Land Commissioner’s Sale to Justin and Alecia Simpson for the following property: lots Eleven (11), Twelve (12) and Thirteen (130, Block seventy-three (73), Plat Nineteen (19), Twin Oaks Harbor for a selling price of $790.43. Motion carried.

The St. Clair County Commission met Friday, March 29, with Robert Salmon, presiding commissioner, Leroy Strope, north commissioner, Gerald Williams, south commissioner, Debbie Peden, county clerk and Marian McCaslin, administrative assistant present.

Attorney J. D. Baker was in to verify the hearing on Monday, April 1, 2019, on Road Vacation on SW 1175 Rd.,

CART Revenues received were $49,314.77. $35,416.18 was the portion going to Common Road District. Out of these revenues, funds were allocation to the following Special Road Districts: Appleton City Special $2,456.82; Chloe Special $1,614.48; Collins Special $3,158.78; Hillsdale Special $1,614.48; Osceola Special $2,597.21; Vista Special $2,456.82.

The commissioners met with Road and bridge Supervisor Cole Cochran. Discussed were road conditions and culverts.

Commission met Monday, April 1, with all present.

A telephone call was received from MoDot regarding Agri-Ready County Signs. It was related that signs are not to be placed on existing MoDot sign posts.

A citizen telephoned regarding road conditions on SW 1301 and SW 850 Roads.

Road Vacation Petition Hearing was held at 10 a.m. The petition to vacate a portion of SW 1175 Rd., between SW 126 and SW 1201 was read. A remonstrance to deny the petition to vacate the portion of Rd., SW 1175 was read. Ten citizens were in attendance. All attendees were allowed to speak. The commission determined that the road is not an undue burden on the County and the public does use the road; therefore, not useless. Commissioner Strope made a motion to vacate said road. Motion failed by vote. Presiding Commissioner Salmon states the road will remain open.
