St. Clair County Sheriff’s office News Updates Oct. 30-Nov. 3, 2017

Sheriff Scott Keeler reported deputies made three arrests and took a stealing report during the week of Oct. 30-Nov. 3, 2017.

Warrant Arrests

Nov. 1-Paul Ticknor, 57, Osceola, was arrested on a St. Clair County warrant charging him with a class A misdemeanor of driving while intoxicated. Bond is set at $3,500 cash or surety.

The arrest comes from a traffic stop by a St. Clair County deputy on July 20, 2017. During his patrol, the deputy noticed a vehicle cross the center line into oncoming traffic. The driver made a sudden correction back into his lane, causing his tires on the right side of his vehicle to come off the highway.

The deputy conducted a traffic stop and identified the driver as Paul Ticknor. The deputy performed a sobriety test on Ticknor, which he failed. He was placed under arrest.

  Nov. 1 – Mellissa Fregoso, 37, Osceola, was arrested on a St. Clair County warrant charging her with a class A misdemeanor domestic assault. Bond is set at $3,500 cash or surety.

Deputies responded to 102 Goodrich Dr., Osceola. Upon arrival, deputies made contact with Soloman Fregoso in the parking lot. Fregoso stated that his wife, Mellissa Fregoso, had assaulted him. He said he was lying on the couch when his wife came into the apartment, yelling at him and then threw the phone at him. Fregoso  stated that his wife yelled at him several more times and then jumped on top of him and hit him in the face.

Nov. 2 – Zachary Hyden, 34, Independence, was arrested on a St. Clair County warrant charging him with failure to appear in court on an ordinance charge of exceeding the posted speed limit by 11-15 mph. Bond is set at $193 cash only.

The charge comes from a traffic stop by the Osceola Police Department on Feb. 28, 2016.

         

Vehicle Reported Stolen Out of Collins

Nov. 1 – A St. Clair County deputy took a stolen vehicle report from Flint Greer in Collins. Greer stated he was in an accident on Oct. 31 and parked his 2003 Ford Explorer Sport Trac at Bud Wilkerson’s house on SE 871 Rd.

The deputy went to Wilkerson’s house to try and locate the vehicle. Wilkerson stated that Greer left his vehicle in his driveway after being told not to. Wilkerson wanted the vehicle removed so, Paul Reaves removed the vehicle.

Nov. 2, – An anonymous tip was received that the vehicle was located at 4885 SE 871 Rd., Collins. The deputy went to the address and located the vehicle and had it towed. While there the deputy made contact with Paul Reaves. Reaves stated he was keeping the vehicle because Greer owed him some money for working on the truck. The deputy informed Reaves that Greer had reported it stolen. Reaves became angry and went back into his residence.

Sheriff Scott Keeler reported deputies made five arrests, took a stolen car report, burglary report, and recovered a stolen gun during the week of Oct. 30-Nov. 6, 2017.

Warrant Arrests

         

Nov. 4 –  Christopher Butrick, 48, Springfield, was arrested by a St. Clair County deputy on a class D felony of possession of a controlled substance during a traffic stop on Nov. 4. Butrick was being held on a 24 hour hold. He was released after the hold expired, pending formal charges.

The arrest stems from a traffic stop on a vehicle that Butrick was driving. The deputy made contact with Butrick and explained why he pulled him over. During their conversation, the deputy asked Butrick if he could search the vehicle. Butrick gave consent to search his vehicle.

  A search of the vehicle revealed a small baggie of a crystal like substance, which field tested positive for methamphetamines.

Nov. 6 – Joshua Bohannon, 33, Osceola, was arrested on a St. Clair County warrant charging him with a class D felony possession of a controlled substance. Bond is set at $10,000 cash or surety.

  The charges stem from a Mid Missouri Drug Task Force investigation on Oct. 2, 2017.

                                                    Burglary in Collins

Nov. 03 – A St. Clair County deputy was dispatched to SE 801 Collins in reference to a burglary.           

  Upon arrival the deputy spoke with the owner, Bernald Comstock. Comstock stated the last time she was at the residence was approximately, August 25, 2017 and everything was fine at that time.

When Comstock arrived at the residence on November 03, she noticed that someone had kicked in the door on the north of the house damaging the door and the frame of the door. She entered the residence to find a mink fur coat was missing and a stainless steel side by side Frigidaire refrigerator gone. There was damage to the floor from removing the refrigerator and someone had damaged the mantle over the fire place. The total loss is valued at $2,500.00.

  A request for prosecution was signed and evidence was collected from the scene.

Stolen Gun Recovered in Lowry City from Clinton

Nov. 3 – A St. Clair County deputy was contacted by a citizen of Lowry City who was interested in buying a hand gun from an individual. He wanted the serial number of the gun ran to make sure it wasn’t stolen.

After a check of the serial number, it was found that the gun was stolen out of Clinton. The deputy contacted the Clinton Police Department, which did have a report on a stolen firearm that matched the one recovered in St. Clair County.

A suspect has been named. The investigation is ongoing.
