ST CLAIR COUNTY SHERIFF

Sheriff Scott Keeler reported deputies made 13 arrests, took two trespassing reports, a burglary report and a stealing report during the weeks of Nov. 6-21, 2017.

Warrant Arrests

Nov. 7 – Flint Greer, 28, Osceola, was arrested on a St. Clair County warrant charging him with a probation violation on original charges of a class D felony possession of a controlled substance and a class D misdemeanor of unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. Bond is set at $5,000 cash only.

The charges stem from a St. Clair County Sheriff’s office investigation on Feb. 8, 2017, when a deputy was dispatched to a call of a trespasser causing a disturbance at on SE 1074 Rd, Collins. Contact was made with Greer, who had driven to Pilot Travel Center, Collins. During the investigation a crystalline substance was located and field tested positive for methamphetamine.  Several items of methamphetamine paraphernalia were also located.

Nov. 8 – Amy Hamp, 37, Deepwater, was arrested by a St. Clair County deputy for warrants out of Johnson County and Henry County. The Johnson County warrant was for failure to appear in court on an ordinance charge. The Henry County warrant was for failure to register motor vehicle. Total bond is set at $225 cash only.

Nov. 8 – Lorent Case, 53, Collins, was arrested on a St. Clair County warrant charging him with a class D felony possession of a controlled substance, a class D misdemeanor unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, and a class E felony of unlawful use of a weapon. Total bond is set at $10,000 cash or surety.

The charges stem from a St. Clair County Sheriff’s office investigation on July, 30, 2017. Lorent gave deputies consent to search his vehicle. During the search deputies found drug paraphernalia, methamphetamines and a loaded weapon.

Nov. 8 – Katherine Mitchell, 51, Garden City, was arrested on a St. Clair County warrant charging her with a probation violation on an original charge of a class C felony possession of a controlled substance. Bond is set at $5,000 cash only.

The original charge stems from a Mid Missouri Multi Jurisdiction Drug Task Force investigation on March 21, 2016.

Nov. 9 – Christopher Gurley, 34, Lowry City, was arrested on a St. Clair County warrant charging him with a class D felony possession of a controlled substance and a class D misdemeanor unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. Total bond is set at $10,000 cash or surety.

The charges stem from an Osceola Police Department investigation on Aug. 15, 2017.

Nov. 13 – Kylee Beard, 22, Pittsburg, was arrested on a St. Clair County warrant for failure to appear in court on a class C misdemeanor of exceeding the posted speed limit by 16-19 mph. Total bond is set at $245 cash only.

The charge stems from a traffic stop by the Missouri State Highway Patrol on Feb. 12, 2016.

Nov. 13 – Thomas Manuel, 35, Quincy, was arrested by a St. Clair County deputy on a class A misdemeanor assault in the fourth degree. Manuel was booked and released pending formal charges.

The arrest stems from a St. Clair County investigation into a domestic assault. When deputies arrived on scene, they found Manuel standing on the porch, in a very agitated state. One deputy spoke with Manuel, while the other deputy made contact with the victims inside the house. The victims stated that Manuel started accusing them of being in an intimate relationship and they became frightened. The victims barricaded themselves in a room and Manuel repeatedly tried to break through the door. One of the victims stated that Manuel had made threats to do bodily harm to him.

Nov. 14 – Renee Houk, 38, Clinton, was arrested on a St. Clair County warrant charging her with a class D felony possession of a controlled substance. Total bond is set at $5,000 cash or surety.

The charge comes from an investigation by the Mid Missouri Multi-Jurisdictional Drug Task Force and the St. Clair County Sheriff’s office.

Nov. 14 – Mike Mullen, 38, Appleton City, was arrested on a St. Clair County warrant charging him with a class D felony possession of a controlled substance and a class D misdemeanor unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. Total bond is set at $12,500.

The charges come from an investigation by the Mid Missouri Multi-Jurisdictional Drug Task Force and the St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office.

Nov. 14 – Leonard Spence, 58, Appleton City, was arrested on a St. Clair County warrant charging him with a class C felony delivery of a controlled substance, class E felony delivery of 35 grams or less of marijuana or synthetic cannabinoid, and a class D misdemeanor unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. Total bond is set at $25,000 cash or surety.

  The charges come from an investigation by the Mid Missouri Multi-Jurisdictional Drug Task Force and the St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office.

Nov. 17 – Ashley Vandenburg, 28, Nevada, was arrested by a St. Clair County deputy on a class D felony for possession of a controlled substance.

Vandenburg was pulled over for a traffic violation. During the traffic stop, a K9 did an exterior sniff search of the vehicle, and alerted to the presence of narcotics. A search of the vehicle revealed a plastic bag, that field tested positive for methamphetamines.

Nov. 18 – Jesse Morse, 29, Springfield, was arrested by a St. Clair County deputy for a class C felony of receiving stolen property. Morse was booked and released pending formal charges.

While on patrol, a St. Clair County deputy observed a truck on the shoulder of the road. As he approached the vehicle, he could see a female subject, lying down on the seat. The deputy ran the vehicle and found it to be stolen out of Greene County. It was found that Morse also had a suspended driver’s license.

Nov. 20 – Cody Franklin, 28, Springfield, was arrested by a St. Clair County deputy during a traffic stop on a Greene County warrant for failure to appear in court on an original charge of domestic assault in the third degree. Bond is set at $1,000 cash or surety.

Property Stolen from Osceola

Nov. 6 –  St. Clair County deputy was advised to make contact with James Patroske regarding theft of a deer tree stand.

The deputy and Patroske went to the property located off of NE 82 Hwy. Patroske showed the deputy where the tree stand was last seen on Oct. 30. Patroske described the stand as a 24 foot single person stand.

Evidence was collected from the scene and a request for prosecution was signed.

  Trespasser Cited in Osceola

Nov. 11 – St. Clair County deputy was contacted over the phone by phone William Adrian in reference to trespassing and littering.

Adrian told the deputy he takes care of land belonging to Joseph Swearengin. Adrian stated he was going out hunting on Swearengin’s land and found some trash along a path. Adrian followed the path and located a plastic zip-lock bag with Missouri Conservation Department deer tags in it belonging to Brandon L. Brewer. The deputy informed Adrian to bring Swearengin and come to the St. Clair County Sheriff’s office and file a report and sign a request for prosecution.

On Nov. 12, St. Clair County deputies and a Missouri Department of Conservation agent went to the address that was on the deer tags and made contact with Brandon Brewer. The Conservation agent cited Brewer for trespassing.

Trespasser near Roscoe Area

Nov. 13 – St. Clair County deputy was advised of a report of trespassing.

Gary Martin stated he recently bought 80 acres near Roscoe. Martin stated he recently went walking on his property to hang deer stands and noticed he had a walnut tree that had been cut down. He also stated he found a game camera about 20 feet from his front porch pointed towards the front door of his cabin.

Martin stated William Coleman was on his property when he bought it. Martin stated Coleman was hauling dry wood off of the property.

Evidence was collected from the scene and a request for prosecution was signed.
