May 23 – St. Clair County deputy took a theft report at Appleton City Manor, Appleton City. Charles Conway explained they were cleaning out a storage unit on May 22, and employees left equipment from the storage unit outside to be taken to the recycling yard the next morning. He stated a witness saw people taking items and putting them into a car and driving off.

The missing items included a metal step ladder, bed rail pipe bars, three trash can lids, one wheelchair, metal dish rack, three roller walkers, container of walker parts, one video monitor, one metal heater unit, one stainless steel radiator, metal window frames and three shop lights. The value of the items was estimated at $75.

May 23 – an arrest warrant was issued for John Wood, 48, Osceola, charging him with failing to appear in court on an infraction of trespassing-second degree. Bond is set at $250 cash only.           

The charge stems from a St. Clair County Sheriff’s 0ffice investigation on Jan. 13 when Lynette and Susanne Bullock observed Wood exit the wooded area of their property on NE 60 Rd, Osceola. The Bullock’s stated Wood entered the yard and then got into a green 1997 Ford Mustang parked in the driveway and left the property. Wood did not have permission to be on the property.

May 24 – Daniel Rodriguez, 29, Springfield, was arrested on a St. Clair County warrant charging him with several charges, class D felony tampering with a motor vehicle-first degree, class E felony resisting arrest by fleeing, class A misdemeanor failing to yield to an emergency vehicle sounding siren and displaying red/blue light, class B misdemeanor exceeding posted speed limit by 26 miles per hour or more, class B misdemeanor operating a motor vehicle in a careless and imprudent manner and class D misdemeanor operating a vehicle without a license. Total bond is set at $50,000 cash only.

The charges stem from a St. Clair County Sheriff’s office investigation the previous day when a St. Clair County Sheriff’s office deputy was patrolling Hwy 13 and checked the speed of two motorcycles, a white sport bike, and a blue sport bike at approximately 90 miles per hour approximately two miles north of Collins. The deputy activated his emergency lights and siren in an attempt to stop the drivers of two motorcycles.

The driver of the white motorcycle turned off and the driver of the blue motorcycle accelerated rapidly.  The deputy followed the driver of the blue motorcycle, later identified as Rodriguez. Speeds reached in excess of 130 miles per hour with Rodriguez weaving in and out of traffic. At one point Rodriguez drove in between two southbound cars traveling side by side.   Rodriguez continued into Polk County traveling over 100 miles per hour.

Approximately six miles south of Bolivar, Rodriguez started to lose control in a rain shower.  The deputy slowed his patrol car, with lights and siren still activated, in an attempt to not run over Rodriguez if he lost total control. The deputy’s patrol car hydroplaned and travelled into the median. The patrol car crossed two lanes of on-coming traffic, travelled up an embankment striking multiple trees. The deputy was transported by ambulance to Cox South Trauma Unit and was later released with minor injuries.

Rodriguez continued south on Hwy 13 and was apprehended after being followed by a Missouri State Highway Patrol aircraft to a residence in Springfield.  A deputy responded to the residence, took Rodriquez into custody and transported him to the St. Clair County Jail. The motorcycle was found to be stolen out of Joplin.

May 25 – West Ford, 46, St. Ann, was arrested on a St. Clair County warrant for failing to appear in court on two counts, class B felony possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance and class C felony possession of a controlled substance. The warrant was issued May 1 and bond is set at $20,000 cash or surety.

The charges stem from an investigation on April 26, 2016, on Hwy 13 southbound near CC Hwy when a St. Clair County deputy conducted a traffic stop Ford was a passenger in. During the investigation Ford was found to be in possession of heroin. He was taken into custody pending the formal charge. Members of the Mid Missouri Multi Jurisdiction Drug Task Force assisted with the investigation.

May 26 – Billie Atkinson, 33, Wheatland, was arrested on a St. Clair County warrant charging her with several counts, class D felony possession of controlled substance, class A misdemeanor unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, class B misdemeanor failure to register motor vehicle, an unclassified misdemeanor of no insurance and class C misdemeanor failure to drive on right half of the roadway.

The charges stem from a St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office  investigation the previous day when deputies were patrolling on T Hwy and conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle Atkinson was driving. During the investigation two glass pipes used to smoke methamphetamine were located in the vehicle. A glass pipe used to smoke marijuana was also located. Atkinson was transported to the St. Clair County Jail.

May 27 – Clint Wilkerson Sr., 45, Collins, was arrested on a St. Clair County warrant charging him with class D felony domestic assault-second degree and class B misdemeanor property damage second degree. Bond is set at $20,000 cash or surety.

The charges stem from a St. Clair County investigation the same day when deputies took a report of assault from a female victim at Wilkerson’s residence on SE 871 Rd, Collins. She stated she woke up and Wilkerson was choking her. The female stated when she attempted to leave the property Wilkerson flattened three of the tires by cutting the valve stems. Wilkerson was taken into custody and transported to the St. Clair County Jail.

May 28 – St. Clair County deputies took a property damage report on South Lucas Street, Lowry City. Forrest Salters and Donna Rollins reported the night prior three people were in the driveway trying to break into Forrest’s car. Damage was reported to the handle of the car door and the chrome trim around the top of the door. Repairs were estimated at $300.

June 1 – St. Clair County deputy took a stealing report on Fourth Street, Appleton City. Richard Souders reported his red Troy Bilt lawnmower was stolen off his property in Appleton City. The value of the mower was estimated at $1,800. Suspects were named.

Eaton and Case sought for questioning

Law enforcement from St. Clair and Hickory Counties are seeking Jerry Eaton, 45, Osceola, and Shanna Case, 44, Collins, for questioning after failing to yield to law enforcement during the morning hours on May 17.
