ST. CLAIR COUNTY SHERIFF

Sheriff Scott Keeler reported deputies made eight arrests and took a stealing report during the week of Jan. 28-Feb. 4, 2019.

Warrant Arrests

Vincent Mansell- On Feb. 3, Vincent Mansell, 38, El Dorado Springs, was arrested by a St. Clair County deputy on a class D felony stealing and a class B misdemeanor trespassing. Mansell was placed on a 24 hour hold pending formal charges.

The arrest comes after a St. Clair County deputy was dispatched to a residence on SE Highway WW in reference to stealing. Upon arrival, the deputy made contact with Vernon Putnam. Putnam advised a white GMC pickup without any registration on it, was parked near his property fence, in a field. The vehicle owner was not located at the time. Putnam stated the bed of the truck had multiple pieces of his property in it. Putnam identified a silver California air compressor, propane torch, black toolbox with miscellaneous tools, a black Schumacher battery charger, an orange Harbor Freight porta power, and a blue Campbell Hausfield welder to be his. Total estimated value $1,650. Putnam stated he did want to press charges.

Later on in the evening, a St. Clair County deputy was dispatched back to the Putnam residence in reference to Mansell being on the property. Mansell was taken into custody.

Angela Hanson- On Feb. 2, Angela Hanson, 39, Humansville, was arrested on a St. Clair County warrant for failure to appear in court on an ordinance charge for no seat belt. Bond is set at $10 cash only.

The original charge comes from the Missouri State Highway Patrol on April 10, 2018.

Vanity Wester- On Feb. 2, Vanity Wester, 21, Kansas City, was arrested by a St. Clair County deputy on a class D felony possession of a controlled substance and a class D misdemeanor unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. Wester was booked and released pending formal charges.

The arrest comes after a St. Clair County deputy performed a traffic stop on the vehicle Wester was a passenger in for an equipment violation. The deputy received consent to search the vehicle from the driver. During the search, syringes with residue in them, a plastic container with a white crystal like residue, a plastic baggie with a crystal like residue, and a marijuana cigarette were located. Wester admitted that everything illegal in the vehicle belonged to her.

Brittney Brewer- On Feb. 1, Brittney Brewer, 29, Clinton, was arrested by a St. Clair County deputy on a Henry County warrant charging her with failure to appear in court on a misdemeanor charge. Bond is set at $500 cash only.

The arrest comes after a St. Clair County deputy performed a traffic stop on a vehicle Brewer was driving.

Annette Smith- On Feb. 1, Annette Smith, 41, Fort Scott, KS, was arrested on a St. Clair County warrant for a probation violation on an original class C felony possession of a controlled substance. Bond is set at $5,000 cash only.

The original charge stems from an investigation on Oct. 4, 2016, when St. Clair County deputies responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle on Highway 82, west of Osceola on Missouri Department of Conservation land. Contact was made with Smith, the driver of the vehicle, and a passenger. During the investigation, a pipe with residue field tested positive for methamphetamine and several other items of drug paraphernalia were located in the vehicle.

Audbrianna Kirk- On Jan. 31, Audbrianna Kirk, 29, Appleton City, was arrested on a St. Clair County warrant charging her with a class D felony possession of a controlled substance. Bond is set at $15,000 cash or surety.

The original charge comes after St. Clair County deputies assisted the Mid Missouri Drug Task Force with an investigation in Appleton City on Jan. 13, 2018. After making contact and talking with the property owner, consent was given to search the residence. During the search, a plastic baggie containing a white crystal like substance was located in a carrying bag. The substance did test positive for methamphetamine. Kirk admitted the methamphetamine was hers.

Casey Bauer- On Jan. 29, Casey Bauer, 30, Springfield, was arrested on a St. Clair County warrant charging her with a class D misdemeanor driving while revoked/suspended. Bond is set at $750 cash or surety.

The warrant comes after the vehicle Bauer was driving was pulled over for an equipment violation on June, 16, 2018. During a record check, it was revealed that Bauer had a suspended driver’s license.

Todd Collins- On Jan. 29, Todd Collins, 44, Springfield, was arrested on a St. Clair County warrant charging him with a class D felony possession of a controlled substance and a class D misdemeanor unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. Bond is set at $7,500 cash or surety.

The warrant comes after a St. Clair County deputy performed a traffic stop on the vehicle Collins was driving for a traffic violation. The deputy asked for and was given consent to search the vehicle. During the search, a plastic baggie containing a white crystal like substance was recovered. Also recovered, was a scale with a white residue on it. The substance in the plastic baggie and the residue from the scale both field tested positive for methamphetamine.

Suspicious Person in Lowry City

On Feb. 3, St. Clair County deputies were dispatched to 6th Street in regards to a suspicious person. Upon arrival, the deputy made contact with Bobby Stone. Stone advised he was outside with his dog when he observed someone trying to break into a vehicle. Stone stated he yelled at the subject, the subject than ran south into the woods. Stone advised the subject was wearing a dark colored hoodie and dark pants and something on their face. The deputies patrolled the area looking for the subject.

While looking for the subject, dispatched advised the deputies of a phone call from Donald Woodrome. Woodrome stated he had the subject they were looking for at his residence. When the deputies arrived at Woddrome’s residence, he stated he was in his garage when he heard someone walking in his driveway. When Woodrome came out of the garage he found the male subject. Woodrome stated the subject was out of breath wearing a red bandana over his face and gloves on his hands.

Deputies arrived on scene. One deputy searched the subject for weapons and found a bit driver along with a bandana and gloves. The juvenile male subject was placed under arrest.

Stolen Gun in Osceola

On Jan. 28, a St. Clair County deputy was dispatched to NE Business Highway 82 in reference to stealing. Upon arrival, the deputy spoke with Vernon Conrad. Conrad advised between Nov. 20, 2018 and Jan. 28, 2019, an unknown person broke into his grandson’s residence and stole his gun. Conrad advised it was a brown and black in color, Browning 270 caliber rifle. Estimated value is $1,500.
