Sheriff Scott Keeler reported deputies made 19 arrests during the weeks of July 29-August 12, 2019.

Warrant Arrests

Kaleb Roth- On Aug. 9, Kaleb Roth, 23, Appleton City, was arrested on a St. Clair County warrant charging him with a class A misdemeanor stealing. Bond is set at $1,000 cash or surety.

The warrant comes after an employee from Mike’s Wrecker Service reported a theft of services in March of 2019.

Richard Chambers- On Aug. 8, Richard Chambers, 60, Mountain Home, AR, was arrested on a St. Clair County warrant charging him with a class D felony possession of a controlled substance and a class D misdemeanor unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. Bond is set at $10,000 cash or surety.

The warrant comes after a St. Clair County deputy performed a traffic stop on the vehicle Chambers was driving for a traffic violation in February of 2019. While talking with Chambers, he consented to a search of the vehicle. During the search of the vehicle a glass pipe with a crystal like residue was located along with a plastic container. The glass pipe did field test positive for methamphetamine.

Kenneth Collins, Jr.- On Aug. 8, Kenneth Collins, Jr., 35, Lowry City, was arrested by a St. Clair County deputy on multiple warrants for other jurisdictions. There are three from Henry County, one from Bates County, one from Benton County, one from Jackson County, and one from the Kansas City Police Department. There is no bond for the Benton County warrant.

Jared Elliott- On Aug. 8, Jared Elliott, 27, Bolivar, was arrested by a St. Clair County deputy on a class B misdemeanor driving while intoxicated. Elliott was booked and released pending formal charges.

The arrest comes after St. Clair County deputies were dispatched to a residence on NE 301 Road in reference to a suspicious person. Upon arrival, the deputies spoke with Johnnie Carroll. Carroll stated a white male in a truck drove past his house and parked at Carroll’s shop.

Deputies made contact with the white male, late identified as Jared Elliott. The deputies could smell the strong odor of intoxicants come from Elliott’s person. Deputies asked Elliott if he had been drinking and he stated yes. The deputies took a preliminary breath test with a reading of 0.289% blood alcohol concentration. A breathalyzer test was administered at the St. Clair County Jail with the result of 0.296% blood alcohol concentration.

Rodney Garner- On Aug. 8, Rodney Garner, 50, DeFuniak Springs, FL, was arrested on a St. Clair County warrant for failure to appear in court on an infraction charge of driver failing to secure a child less than 16 years old in a properly adjusted/fastened restraint. Bond is set at $10.

The original charge stems from a traffic stop by the Missouri State Highway Patrol in Feb. of 2019.

Levi Dotson- On Aug. 7, Levi Dotson, 34, Springfield, was arrested on a St. Clair County warrant charging him with failure to pay fines/costs on an unclassified misdemeanor driving while revoked/suspended- second or subsequent offense. Bond is set at $478.50 cash only.

The original charge stems from a traffic stop by a St. Clair County deputy in November of 2015.

Shane Magoon- On Aug. 7, Shane Magoon, 47, Lowry City, was arrested on a St. Clair County warrant charging him with an unclassified felony armed criminal action, a class E felony unlawful use of a weapon-exhibiting, a class D felony unlawful possession of a firearm, a class E resisting arrest/detention/stop by fleeing, and a class A misdemeanor assault in the fourth degree. This is a no bond warrant.

The warrant comes after a St. Clair County deputy was trying to pull over a vehicle for failure to yield on June 9, 2019. The vehicle finally stopped approximately one and a half miles east of Highway E and Highway A intersection.  Upon making contact with the subject, the deputy noticed a weapon. The subject allegedly reached for the weapon. The deputy drew his county issued service weapon and fired one shot at the subject. The subject was struck by the shot fired. The deputy was not injured.

Mark Michael- On Aug. 6, Mark Michael, 59, Higginsville, was arrested by a St. Clair County deputy on a class E felony driving while intoxicated-persistent. Michael was placed on a 24 hour hold pending formal charges.

The arrest comes after a St. Clair County deputy observed a vehicle sitting in the middle of Business 13 in Collins. The deputy activated his emergency lights and approached the vehicle. The deputy observed a half empty bottle of alcohol sitting in the passenger’s seat. While speaking with Michael, the deputy could smell the strong odor of intoxicants. A record check of the driver showed multiple previous driving while intoxicated convictions. Michael became very belligerent with the deputy and refused a portable breath test.

Crystal Beckmon- On Aug. 5, Crystal Beckmon, 37, Eldorado Springs, was arrested on a St. Clair County warrant charging her with a class D felony possession of a controlled substance. Bond is set at $20,000 cash or surety.

The warrant comes after a vehicle that Beckmon was a passenger in, was pulled over for a traffic violation in April of 2018. During the conversation with a deputy, Beckmon removed a zip lock bag from her person and handed it to the deputy. The baggie contained marijuana residue and prescription pills.

Ashley Ganneway- On Aug. 5, Ashley Ganneway, 33, Osceola, was arrested by a St. Clair County deputy on a class D felony possession of a controlled substance. Ganneway was booked and released pending formal charges.

The arrest comes from an investigation by the Mid Missouri Drug Task Force in August of 2019.

Tye Kempinger- On Aug. 5, Tye Kempinger, 48, Kansas City, was arrested on a St. Clair County warrant charging him with a class D felony possession of a controlled substance, a class D felony unlawful possession of a firearm, and a class E felony unlawful use of a weapon-possess a weapon and a felony controlled substance. Bond is set at $15,000 cash or surety.

The warrant comes from an investigation by the Mid Missouri Drug Task Force in August of 2019.

Rachelle McKinney- On Aug. 5, Rachelle McKinney, 28, Springfield, was arrested by a St. Clair County deputy on a class B misdemeanor driving while intoxicated. McKinney was booked and released pending formal charges.

The arrest comes after a St. Clair County deputy was dispatched to the southbound lanes of Highway 13 coming out of Henry County in regards to a motorist operating a vehicle in a careless manner. The motorist pulled over and stopped. The deputy made contact with the driver and could smell the odor of intoxicants coming from the vehicle. The deputy asked McKinney if she would submit to a preliminary breath test. She stated she would. The test resulted in a preliminary blood alcohol concentration of 0.200%. McKinney was placed under arrest and transported to the St. Clair County Jail. A deputy performed a breathalyzer test on McKinney with a result of 0.235% blood alcohol concentration.

Michael Mullen, Jr.- On Aug. 5, Michael Mullen, Jr., 40, Urich, was arrested by a St. Clair County deputy on a  Johnson County warrant for failure to appear in court on an original class D misdemeanor stealing. Bond is set at $400 cash only.

Darrell Warner- On Aug. 5, Darrell Warner, 37, Blue Springs, was arrested on a St. Clair County warrant charging him with a probation violation on an original class D felony non-support, total arrears in excess of 12 monthly payments due under order of support. Bond is set at $2000 cash only.

James Honeycutt- On Aug. 4, James Honeycutt, 47, Bolivar, was arrested by a St. Clair County deputy on a class B misdemeanor driving while intoxicated. Honeycutt was booked and released pending formal charges.

The arrest comes after St. Clair County deputies were dispatched northbound Highway 13 from Collins in reference to a careless driver. Deputies were able to get to the area and find a motorist swerving severely and almost striking other vehicles. The deputies were able to get the motorist to pull over and stop. When deputies approached the vehicle they could smell the odor of intoxicants. Honey cut was asked to perform a field sobriety test; he failed. A breathalyzer test resulted in a 0.237% blood alcohol concentration.

Richard Turner III- On Aug. 2, Richard Turner III, 49, Springfield, was arrested by a St. Clair County deputy on a Stone County warrant for failure to appear in court. This is a no bond warrant.

Brandon Mistler- On July 30, Brandon Mistler, 22, Lowry City, was arrested by a St. Clair County deputy on a class D felony possession of a controlled substance. Mistler was booked and released pending formal charges.

The arrest comes after the St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office and the Mid Missouri Drug Task Force worked together to execute a search warrant on the residence where Mistler resides.

Angel Self- On July 30, Angel Self, 33, Lowry City, was arrested by a St. Clair County deputy on a class D felony possession of a controlled substance. Self was booked and released pending formal charges.

The arrest comes after the St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office and the Mid Missouri Drug Task Force worked together to execute a search warrant on the residence where Self resides.

John Chiles, Jr.- On July 29, John Chiles, Jr., 43, Deepwater, was arrested on a St. Clair County warrant charging him with a class E felony domestic assault in the third degree. Bond is set at $15,000 cash or surety.

The warrant comes after St. Clair County deputies were dispatched to a residence on NE 1142 Private Road in reference to a domestic assault. Upon arrival, the deputies made contact with the victim. The victim stated that Chiles smacked her across the face. She filled out a request for prosecution.
