Once again the EHS Speech & Debate Team performed well for another great win from Fair Grove High School over the weekend.

Five students competed and three went home with medals and trophies, even a 4th place sweepstakes trophy for our team.  Words cannot continue to describe how proud I am of my kids and all their hard work they have done this season. Between their obligations with school, work, other activities, and life itself, I am proud of their accomplishments.

If I had to pick something I am most proud of and astonished by is seeing those students, with fear on their faces the first day of school, go from being shy to opening up and meeting other kids, and being comfortable in front of people.  I saw some students, who wouldn’t speak in front of a judge, go to other schools and interact with other kids/become friends. As a teacher, that makes my heart feel good to see the change in them, building that self-confidence for the future.
