The El Dorado Springs Community Foundation is proud to offer a new scholarship this year, the Eldon Steward Agricultural Scholarship.

This is a $400 scholarship offered to an El Dorado Springs High School Senior who plans a career in agriculture. Mr. Steward spent many years of his life promoting agriculture through farming and other agriculture related businesses in this area and wishes to encourage local students to pursue agriculture as a career path. Cedar County is primarily an agricultural area and what better way to promote our community than to support local students in pursing higher education in a field of interest that focuses on our area’s economy and environment?

In addition to the Eldon Steward Agricultural Scholarship, we are pleased to offer three other local scholarships from the El Dorado Springs Community Foundation.

• Doc and Bonnie Bender Memorial Scholarship

• $1,250 over 3 years (1st year $500, 2nd year $750, 3rd year $1,000)

• Dorothy Pope Memorial Nursing Scholarship

• $400

• Shelley D White Briscoe Memorial Nursing Scholarship (may include other healthcare related field of study)

• $400

Deadline for applications is March 31, 2017.

Students should contact their High School Scholarship representative for an application and may log into http://cfozarks.org/cfo-scholarships/ and enter El Dorado Springs in the search by city box to find many other scholarships available to students in this area.
