The El Dorado Springs Boys basketball team spent the week traveling to Clinton for the Clinton Tournament. The boys started the tournament Monday against the host school Clinton. After a tied first quarter (17-17), Clinton outscored the Bulldogs by 11 in the second quarter. The Cardinals held the lead the rest of the game and the Bulldogs lost 63-49.

Shelby McKinney led the Bulldogs with 14 points. Orlando Guerrero and Donovan Collins each added 10.

The Bulldogs second game was against a very athletic team from Kansas City East. El Dorado played great defense but struggled offensively. The Bulldogs held a one-point lead, 24-23, going into halftime. The Bulldogs would need overtime to win the game 53-47.

Donovan Collins and Preston Robison led the Bulldogs with 12 each.

The win put the Bulldogs in the consolation finals against Frontier Stem Academy. El Dorado jumped out to a 31-11 first-half lead and won 68-43.

Shelby McKinney led the Bulldogs with 20. Donovan Collins scored 17. Preston Robison added 11 and Clayton Collins had 10.

El Dorado gets back into conference play this week as they host Warsaw on Friday for Senior Night.
