The El Dorado Springs Boys Basketball team traveled to Clinton last week for the Clinton Tournament.

The seventh-seeded Bulldogs faced the second-seeded Central Academy of Excellence in round one. Central proved to be too much for the Bulldogs as El Dorado lost 48-74.

Shelby McKinney led the Bulldogs with 11 points.

The loss put El Dorado into the Consolation bracket to face the Frontier School of Excellence. This time the Bulldogs came away with a 67-48 win.

Brayden Housh led the team with 15 points, followed by Derek Hayes with 14, and Kaiden Simmons and McKinney both with 11.

The win put the Bulldogs into the Consolation Finals for round three against the Knob Noster Panthers. Knob Noster won the first meeting of the season at the Warsaw Tournament and El Dorado won the second round at Knob Noster before Christmas. This game was a low scoring defensive battle. El Dorado led 13-10 at halftime and pulled away in the second half to win 36-21.

Kaiden Simmons led the Bulldogs with 14 and Derek Hayes added 12.

The Bulldogs have another busy week with Courtwarming on Monday night against Climax Springs. Then they travel Buffalo on Tuesday, back home Thursday against Warsaw for Senior Night and finish the week with a trip to Frontenac, KS, on Friday.
