El Dorado Springs Lady Bulldogs

The Lady Bulldogs competed in the Clinton Invitational during the week of January 21st through the 26th.  The Lady Bulldogs came into the tournament as the two seed and faced the Lady Tigers of Warrensburg on that Monday.  The Lady Bulldogs played a good game on both the offensive and defensive ends of the floor and took a first round win 67-38. Scoring for the Lady Bulldogs was Reese Schaaf 26, Taylor Robison 13 and Tevi Gurley with 11.  This would put the Lady Bulldogs up against the Lady Wildcats of Harrisonville in the semi finals.  This game was a compete reversal of the first as the Lady Bulldogs struggled to score and had a difficult time getting stops on the defensive end when they needed to.  The Lady Bulldogs eventually fell to the Lady Wildcats 34-46.  Leading the Lady Bulldogs in scoring was Reese Schaaf with 11.   The loss put the Lady Bulldogs into the third place game against a very good Adrian Lady Blackhawks team.  The first quarter went back and forth as both teams were able to take a lead, but the Lady Blackhawks finished the quarter leading 23-20.  The Lady Bulldogs weren’t ever able to recover as they were held to 15 points the rest of the game and lost 35-69.  Scoring for the Lady Bulldogs were Dani Ogle 15 and Tevi Gurley 12.  Reese Schaaf was named to the All tournament.

Friday, February 1st, the Lady Bulldogs hosted the Lady Wildcats of Warsaw in a Ozark Mountain Conference game.  The game went back and forth early as the Lady Bulldogs were able to finish the 1st quarter with a one point lead 11-10.  In the second quarter,  the Lady Bulldogs pushed the lead to 13.  Taking a 29-16 lead into half time.  The Lady Bulldogs never looked back as they finished off the game with the conference win 58-33.  Scoring for the Lady Bulldogs were Reese Schaaf 23, Tevi Gurley 13 and Taylor Robison 12 points.

After the game the Lady Bulldogs recognized seniors Taylor Robison, Tori Rawlings, Riley Jeffries and Jace Cundiff for their hardwork and dedication throughout their high school careers.  The Lady Bulldogs will be back in action in an Ozark Mountain Conference game at Butler on Tuesday night and will return to the road Friday as they play another conference opponent the Buffalo Lady Bison.  The Lady Bulldogs are currently 13-8 and 5-0 in conference play.
