On Sept. 8 – 9 the annual club championship was held at the Gene Pray Memorial golf course in El Dorado Springs. Despite cool, rainy weather, we had 43 golfers vying for next year’s memberships in five flights. Following are the results.

Finishing first in the championship flight was Charlie Cantrell. He and Chace Burrus tied for first and Charlie won in a three hole playoff. This was Cantrell’s third championship in a row.

Trent Donnohue won first in A-flight by three strokes over Drex Salazar.

In B-flight, Jordon Fletcher was a 6 stroke winner with Mike Frier finishing second. This flight was hard to win because there were 16 players competing.

In C-flight Tonya Bush won by one stroke over Charlie Boultinghouse. Tonya became our first female to win since Jo Poyzer won A-flight in 2004. Nancy Walker was our other lady golfer to win a championship in 1997.

In D-flight David Austin, who was playing in his first club championship, won by 10 strokes over Kaycee Bachand.

Thanks to course superintendent Riley Julian and his staff for getting the course in great shape and to the people who volunteered their time to run a smooth tournament.
