Dig, set, spike!  Those three little words mean a lot when the score is 23-23.

Coach Tessie Watkins and her Junior High Lady Buffalos traveled to Overland Christian Academy, on Saturday, Oct. 8, to compete in the OCH Jr. high volleyball Tournament.

The girls started play with a match against Christian Learning Center from Ft. Scott, KS.

The Buffalos won the set in two, 25-19, 25-15.  With a win under their belt, Coach Watkins and the girl’s next opponent was Plaza Heights Christian Academy.

As the first game began, each team battled to score points.  Good serves and great spikes came from each side.  Plaza Heights edged out the first game with the win, 25-23.

The Lady Buffalos answered the call, winning the second match, 25-19.  With one game each, both teams focused and fought their way to hit the win with 15.  Plaza Heights pulled it out in the end, 15-9.

With only one loss, Coach Watkins and the girls had to beat the hosting team, Overland Christian for second place.  ECS won in two, 25-11 and 25-9.
