KARATE WINNERS

KARATE WINNERS – On Saturday, May 20, students from Van Dyk’s Karate representing Team VDK & Team S.W.A.T. travelled to St. Louis to compete in the 2017 Silver Sun Showdown a North American Sport Karate Association sanctioned event.

Several competitors from all over the nation competed in this event and as always there was great competition.

Jordan Runkle competed in the Youth 6 and Under Intermediate Division and placed 1st in Open Hand Forms and 1st in Point Sparring. Jordan also competed in the Youth 10 & Under Traditional Weapons Division and placed 5th.

Mason Fast competed in the 11-14 Youth Intermediate Traditional Weapons Division and placed 4th. Mason was a finalist in all of his other events.

Taylin Oberly competed in the Youth 10 & Under Intermediate Traditional Weapons Division and placed 4th. Taylin also placed 4th Open Hand Forms and 4th in Point Sparring in the 10-11 Youth Intermediate Division.
