LADY BUFFALOS 2ND IN STATE – It was a season that no one expected. Coach Kelly Bryson had a young team, new players, and new opponents. The Lady Buffalos started the first few games of the season as underdogs. But as time went on, they started relying on each other; playing as a family, instead of individually. Their hard work and dedication to one another prepared the Bufflaos as they headed to MSSU in Joplin to compete in the 2018 MCSAA State Volleyball Playoffs on Thursday, Oct. 27. Every member of the ECHS Lady Buffalo volleyball team played a huge part in the three-day battle to reach the championship bracket. Coach Bryson was proud of her athletes, “They worked really hard, every single one of my girls. We had saves by seventh grader, Leah Biron, big blocks/spikes by Hailey and Jordanne, great coverage by Joelle, Olivia and Faith; really nice backsets by Isabelle, and BIG serves by Hailey, Abigail, Christian and Sophia. All of the girls did an amazing job.” The 2018 ECHS volleyball season came to a close on Saturday, Oct. 29, at Joplin South Middle School when the Lady Buffalos and Coaches, Kelly & Tavis Bryson was presented with the MCSAA State Volleyball Class IV 2nd Place trophy.
