WINTER KICK OUT KARATE TOURNAMENT

WINTER KICK OUT KARATE TOURNAMENT – On Saturday, Dec. 2, members of Team Van Dyk Karate traveled to Independence, Missouri to compete in the Winter Kick Out Karate Tournament. The Winter Kick Out has become a favorite amongst junior karate competitors and again this year was not any different with many young competitors signing up for competition and competing at the highest level. Our own Hannah and Daniel Smith made the journey and did their best and brought home some very nice and well-deserved awards. Daniel competed in the 8-9 Boys Novice Division and placed 3rd in Open Hand Forms and 4th in Point Sparring. Hannah competed in the 10-11 Girls Novice Division and placed 1st in Open Hand Forms and 1st in Point Sparring. Hannah also competed in the 17 & Under Youth Novice Forms Grand Championship and placed 3rd amongst a group of very talented young boys and girls. Congratulations to Hannah & Daniel and a Big Thank You to Master Mark Long and his staff for hosting a great event.
