TOPS Chapter 319 El Dorado Springs (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) met in the Church of Christ Meeting Room on Thursday, April 27.

Robbie opened the meeting and Carol led us in singing “To TOPS Club We Will Go”.

We said our TOPS & KOPS pledges.

Marilyn led us in a series of exercises.

Robbie led us in Roll Call. Twenty-six weighed in today. Sheryl Ann and Jan tied for best loser of the week. They each lost 1.8 lb.

Sue shared a saying “If you are not pleased with your weight, talk to the EATER.”

Robbie announced the KOPS Society will meet at the Golden Corral in Springfield at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday May 6. Three from our chapter are going.

Robbie asked if we would like to hold a shower for Melissa. This is not a TOPS sponsored event, just a group of us getting together after the meeting for a small shower. Sheryl will bring a basket and members that want to can bring a baby item to put in it. Susan will let us know when Melissa is feeling up to coming in.

We wished Judy K a happy anniversary.

Sharon won the right to draw for the marble but did not get the white one

Warren reported on the contest, Juanita is in first place with Carol in 2nd place.

Jean had the program today. She talked about our experiences at SRD this past weekend. Some things that maybe we could do to make it easier on everyone attending. The group liked the rooms at the Oasis; however it is a long way to walk to the conference room. However, staying at the Best Western is hard to cross Glenstone and everyone must load into cars to go back and forth. So it is a tossup.

It was suggested the SRD chairman make reservations for one meal possible early evening on Friday for the whole group. For any meals after that each person or roommates make their own arrangements so not to make participants late to events they are in. We plan to have several people from our chapter in events next year.

Jean said if you have lost 50 lbs. or more and want to be in the before and now parade to please let SRD chairman know so you can be signed up.

Ten members attended. Marie joined in the dress to theme parade dressed as a snowman. We will try to get more information earlier next year so more can get into the dress to theme.

Marilyn received her five-year KOPS award, Marie was honored as a two-year KOPS and Jean received her 11 year KOPS award. Marilyn, Marie and Jean each received a black “K” award for staying within a 10 lb range (no more than 3 lbs over goal and no more than seven pounds under goal) of their goal weight for the whole year.

Jean said SRD will be held in Springfield at the Oasis again next year on May 11 and 12, 2018. The theme will be Movie Magic. We were told more information will be available at Fall Rally.

Those who attended talked about the things they enjoyed the most. Sheryl was new to the experience and even though was not feeling will enjoyed the experience.

Discussion as to how we can fine tune the bylaws in regard to the $30 registration fee to be paid by member if they do not attend. This will be brought up later when bylaws are renewed.

With no other business we closed with our motto “If It Is To Be IT IS Up To Me.”
