The Sac Osage Retired School Employee Association is pleased to announce a new scholarship opportunity for those seeking a Master’s Degree in the field of Education: The Luella Phipps Memorial Educational Scholarship.
The scholarship was funded by contributions from organizations, friends and associates of Luella, upon her death. She was an avid supporter of public education and worked tirelessly for SORSEA. When donations came in from the community to SORSEA, in her name, SORSEA took on the responsibility of dispersing those funds in the form of a one-time scholarship.
SORSEA has been so pleased, for the last few years, to offer a scholarship on behalf of former member, Nellie Nicholas, for those going into education . That scholarship, however, was not open to those working on a Master’s Degree. SORSEA felt Luella would have been very honored to have her name associated with a scholarship devoted to those going even further in the pursuit of a Master’s Degree in the field of Education.
Guidelines and Applications can be picked up at the El Dorado Springs R-II School. The one-time scholarship of $350 is open to those working on a Master’s Degree in the field of Education.
Applications are due postmarked by April 1st, 2025.
Please mail applications (or hand deliver) to: Evelyn Boyle, 1405 S. Jackson, El Dorado Springs, MO 64744
