On Sunday, Oct. 31, at 8:52 a.m. the Fire Department was dispatched to a farm on S. Hwy. 32 to extinguish a skid loader fire. Four trucks and 12 firefighters responded.
On Sunday evening, from 5-7 p.m. the Fire Department opened the pumper bays and gave candy, hot dogs and water to the Trick or Treaters who stopped by. Special thanks to CMH EMS and Cedar County First Responders who helped to make this event a success.
On Tuesday, Nov. 2, at 9:24 p.m. the Fire Department was dispatched to the airport to set up a landing zone but was cancelled in route.
On Thursday, Nov. 4, at 4:27 p.m. the Fire Department was dispatched to an apartment on McCrary Circle to a fire in an oven. The Fire Department ventilated the apartment. Fire was out on arrival. Two trucks and 10 firefighters responded.
On Friday, Nov. 5, at 10:55 a.m. the Fire Department escorted the Cross Country team out of town from the school. Two trucks and four firefighters responded.
On Saturday, Nov. 6, at 9:59 p.m. the Fire Department was dispatched to the airport to set up and protect a landing zone for a medical aircraft. Two trucks and seven firefighters responded.
On Tuesday, Nov. 9, at 7:57 a.m. Asst. Chief responded to a residence on S. Main St. to a reported gas smell. After an investigation, no problem was found.
