Tops Chapter 9319 El Dorado Springs met in the Grace Methodist Church, 201 E Broadway on Thursday, Sept. 17, for their weekly weigh-in and meeting.

Carol led us in singing “It’s in Our Hands.”

We said our TOPS and KOPS Pledges.

Susan mentioned the up- coming Christmas Parade Nov. 21. Theme of the Parade will be Angels among us honoring our health care workers. She asked that we think about if we want to be in the parade and if so, how we want to decorate a float, or just have a car for some members and others to walk.

Jean asked if everyone had a ride to the ARD in Clinton on Oct. 3. If you need a ride see her and we will work something out. Remember, bring your lunch and beverage’s there will be NONE available on site and no time to go out for lunch. We will bring coolers for drinks and lunches.

We sang Happy Birthday to Linda Hall who is celebrating her Birthday today. We also sang Happy anniversary to Carol who will be celebrating her wedding anniversary later this week. We again sang Happy Birthday to Warren; his birthday was yesterday.

Susan presented a contest she put together for October and November. It is a very simple one;

If you lose weight you will get a ticket to put in a jar. If you are a KOPS you must be at or under goal to get a ticket. A drawing will be held on First weigh in of December and the winner will receive a beautiful Christmas tree skirt hand crocheted by Susan. Contest starts first weigh-in in October and ends last weigh-in in November. Jan made a motion to accept this contest and Linda H 2nd. Motion passed.

Susan led us in roll call. Nineteen weighed in today we had a gain of 7.4 lbs. and a loss of 21.6 leaving us with a net loss of 14.2.

Best loser for the week was Carolyn with a loss of 2.6. Other great losses were; Sandi 2.0, Sue C 5.2 (3-week period), Judy D 1.8, Linda H 2.4, Congratulations to all.

Susan turned the floor over to Carolyn who had the program today. She spoke on Chapter 6 of the Real Life Real People book. “Enjoy the Ride” We have decided we want to make a change to a healthier lifestyle; we have made our plans and we are ready to go. Let’s enjoy the journey, not make it an unpleasant thing. It is hard to slow down and enjoy life. Give yourself a break, reward yourself with a nonfood treat when you reach a goal. Be sure to chart your course, and don’t get lost in the daily grind.

Make a vision board.  Maybe photos of a dress you want to fit into, or pictures of grandkids you want to be able to play with. Maybe have affirmations such as “I am doing this for me”.

Don’t let well- meaning friends get you off course.

Thank you, Carolyn, on a great program.

With no other business meeting was adjourned.
