Liam, a lifelong resident of Cedar County, has been given the opportunity to study abroad in South Korea this summer through a 6-week program at Korea University.

Having grown up in the community, Liam has long valued giving back in meaningful ways. From organizing bake sales at a young age to support the local dog pound, to spending time at the nursing home painting nails for residents, community involvement has always been an important part of her life.

Currently studying psychology with plans to become a certified therapist, Liam views this study abroad experience as an important step in both her academic and personal growth, allowing her to better understand diverse cultures and perspectives.

To help cover travel expenses not included in the program fee—such as airfare and transportation—Liam is hosting a raffle fundraiser. Tickets are available for $5 each or 5 for $20. You can win over $300 in prizes such as gift certificates to places like Liquid Luck and Enrique’s Mexican Grill. Free meals from The Ozark Bistro, Aj’s Diner, and even free movie tickets to the local Cinema. Plus so much more.

Donation jars and raffle tickets can be found at Enrique’s in Stockton, John’s Barber Shop in Stockton, Family Dollar in El Dorado Springs, and Hot Spot in Stockton. Community members are also welcome to contribute via GoFundMe. Type the link https://gofund.me/0ef9fb838 into your browser and in your donation please include your name and phone number in your donation so that you can be contacted if you win. There will be multiple winners so that everyone has a chance to get something great.

All proceeds will go directly toward making this opportunity possible. Winners will be announced on May 23rd live on Facebook and will be contacted directly. You do not need to be present to win.

“Support from the community plays a meaningful role in helping local students pursue opportunities like mine and continue giving back in the future. Thank you so much.”
