TOPS Chapter 319 El Dorado Springs (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) met in the Church of Christ Meeting Room on Thursday, May 25.

Juanita had the program today. Her focus was on exercise. She is our most recent KOPS (Keep Off Pounds Sensibly). She said she and her husband walk every evening. There are many reasons exercise is beneficial. Exercise can improve memory, boost your confidence, Give you better posture; you will be sick less, and live longer. More reasons to exercise taken from the TOPS “real People Real Weight Loss” You will burn more calories, Build muscle mass and recover from an injury faster.

Juanita then led us in a series of simple exercises she took from various TOPS Magazines. Pick what works best for you, walking every evening might not be what you want to do, perhaps you want to do stretching exercises in your chair while watching TV. Just get your body moving.

Robbie opened the meeting and Kay led us in singing “TOPS Pals Go Marching Along.”

Twenty-eight weighed in. The Chapter had a net loss of 20 lbs.

Best loser for the week was Melissa with a loss of 5.8 lbs.

We sang Happy Birthday to Tammy.

Marguerite won the right to draw for the marble but got the green one.

Warren reported on the contest. The new one starts next week June 4. See him to pay your $1 and pick up a contest sheet which you will use to fill out the fruit or veggie you eat each day. He said fried veggies don’t count.  The contest will run till June 29.
