TOPS Chapter 9319 El Dorado Springs met in the Bethel Free Will Baptist Church, 1300 S Summer St, El Dorado Springs, Mo on Thursday January 21, 2021 for their weekly weigh-in and meeting. This is the first time back to holding meetings since Dec. 17, 2020. We are happy to be back to a new normal and encourage all members to stay safe, come to meetings when you can but stay home if you are sick, just let an officer know so we won’t worry about you.

We have moved the scales down stairs where there is more room to distance.

Linda Hall, Co leader called the meeting to order.

Carol led us in singing “It’s a TOPS World”

We said our TOPS and KOPS pledges.

Linda H led us in roll call.  Twelve members weighed in the chapter had a .02 gain.  Best loser for the week was Judy D with a loss of 3.2 lbs.  Congratulations Judy!

Minutes of last meeting were read by Secretary, Jean L

Treasurer Sue C gave the treasures reports.

Motion made by Robbie and 2nd by Laura to approve both secretaries report and treasures report were voted on and passed.

Program: Awards

Linda H presented the awards for December. The chapter had a loss of 21.6 and a gain of 29.6 leaving us with a net gain for December of 8 lbs.

We can and have done better, for the whole year of 2020 we as a chapter lost 613.6 lbs. and gained 554.8 leaving us with a 58.8 net loss. Let’s make 2021 a better year.

Winner of free dues was Warren.

Best loser for the month of December; Laura lost 5.8 lbs. and won $2.95.

Sue C received her 55 lb. loss certificate and her 10 lbs. to goal certificate

Laura received a 2 weeks’ vacation loss cert and charm, 105 lb. loss cert and 110 lb. loss cert and charm

Linda H earned her back in black with perfect attendance, and KOPS reinstituted certificate and charm.

Marilyn D earned her KOPS 9-year certificate and charm

Those on the 20 lb. or less to goal stick are: Linda C, Chris, Judy D, Margie, Lynda B and Sue C.

Carol S was presented her KOPS 5-year charm

Jean L was presented her KOPS 15-year charm.

Marble game:  Margie won the right to draw but did not get the winning one.

Contest:  Laura presented a new contest, TOPS Bingo. It will go for three weeks and you fill out your “bingo card” as you fulfill these activities.

Laura then read the article from TOPS Magazine about added sugar and tips on how to avoid added sugar.

Motion was made by Carol to accept this contest and 2nd by Sue C, motion carried.

While we were unable to meet, we had some birthdays and anniversaries.

Sue C celebrated a birthday on the 4th of January

Pam L and Fred celebrated an anniversary and Linda W and Danny celebrated an anniversary

It is time to renew our membership in the Chamber of Commerce. Motion from Robbie and 2nd from Sue C that we renew our membership, motion passed. Jean will forward Chamber articles and will try to remind members of the monthly Chamber meetings. It would be to our benefit to attend these meetings.

NEW BUSINESS: With sad hearts Linda H read Susan’s resignation from leader letter.  She is unable to continue as leader. Linda H will step up as leader.

Linda also read a letter from Melissa; she is taking some time off as well. We hope these two members can come back soon, we will miss them and wish them the best.
