TOPS Chapter 9319 El Dorado Springs met in The Hill Church, 1300 S. Summer St, El Dorado Springs on Thursday, May 11, for their regular weigh-in and meeting.

Laura, our leader, called the meeting to order.

Carol led us in singing “TOPS Drinking Song”

We said our TOPS & KOPS Pledges

Laura led us in roll call; twenty-one members weighed in. The chapter had a loss of 17.8 lbs. and a gain of 3.4 with a net LOSS of 14.4 lbs.

Best loser for the week was Pat with a loss of 2.8 lbs. Congratulations Pat!

Congratulations to Judy B! Today she became a reinstated KOPS! Congratulations Judy B!

Laura showed us a scarf she made to display charms and pins. Perhaps the chapter would be interested in making these to wear to TOPS events.

Laura reminded us elections will take place in three weeks. Linda is preparing a list of elected offices and volunteer offices and detailing the responsibilities of each.

Laura reminded us if you are doing a program if you can take it from the TOPS Web-Site or from the TOPS Magazine. Our chapter gets points for this.

By-Laws will be gone over soon. Please look them over for any changes you might like to discuss.

Laura read some correspondence from Randy. Next year’s SRD will be April 26-27, 2024 again at the Oasis Convention Center, Springfield.

Marble Game: Pat won the right to draw and she got the WINNING ONE. She won $123.50 and the chapter received $123.50. New game starts next week.

Contest: Warren went over the new contest. The cost is $2 per person.

Rules: Each week you lose you get credit, the one with the most losses at the end of the contest wins. In case of a tie “turtle” or stay the same will be taken into account and if still tied, the one with the most weight loss will be the winner. KOPS must stay below goal or lose to goal.

Pat had the program today. She took her information from the TOPS Magazine March/April 2023. “Steps For Eating Healthy”

1. Focus on fish and lean meats, skip butter, margarine, and lard. Replace with herbs and spices.

2. Eat fewer dairy foods, such as cheese, ice cream, and whole milk. Do not avoid completely just cut back on portions.

3. Limit high sodium add- ons. Again, use herbs and spices to flavor food

4. Limit sugar

5. Avoid sugary drinks

6. Eat more fiber such as beans and lintels.

7. Remember to drink lots of water

We already know we should do these things but we must be reminded from time to time to do it. Thank you, Pat, for a great reminder!

With no other business meeting was adjourned with our motto “IF IT IS TO BE IT IS UP TO ME”.

It’s weight loss, done right.
