Sunday morning worship service at the Rockville United Methodist Church was conducted by Pastor Linda Wansing entitled “Does God have a plan for me?” taken from Acts 17:21-26. You are always welcome to join us for worship Sunday at 9 a.m.
Mt. Zion area received some much-needed rain. Cornfields are looking like fall, getting ready to be harvested. Still lots of hummingbirds, they usually start leaving around Labor Day. School starts Aug. 23, and fall arrives Sept. 22.
Telephone service in the Mt. Zion area not working again, but still getting bill.
We wish Roberta Dines a very happy 96th birthday.
Mt. Zion Club met Aug. 17, at Landmark Restaurant in Lowry City for their regular meeting and to celebrate the club’s 99th birthday and to celebrate Roberta Dines 96th birthday. Next meeting will be Sept. 21, in the home of Marge Zink, lunch at noon.
Terry Piepmier accompanied Judy to the eye doctor to have a procedure on her eye, it was painful but seems to have helped. Judy being Judy is thankful and still smiling.
Dixie Peterson is still doing therapy at Truman Lake Manor.
Wanda Rector been busy setting quilts blocks together and wondering how one person can make such a mess, she is planning a trip soon.
Over at the Robin Siegismund Farm, Belle wishes we had more rain but is enjoying the cooler weather. One day there was five little boys visiting, reminded Belle when she was a pup having a good time playing sure was quite when they went home, Belle enjoyed a nap, Robin was happy to get the mowing done.
Marge Zink was surprised to have a cactus bloom, had a pretty bloom her first ever.
John and Julia Snethen did their usual with John running the bus route and Julia keeping appointments. Julia had lunch at the Landmark then on to Osceola to run errands for John. John went to Springfield Monday to have some skin cancers removed and returned home afterwards. Shella and Theo Vandiver, Cody and Liam Wright and Anna Boo visited John and Julia Friday so Julia could get her great grandmother fix with Liam and Theo all enjoy dinner and the grandchildren.
