Sharon Sterling, a friend of Jewel and Helen Ellerman, passed away on Friday Nov. 7. Sharon grew up in Rockville. She was a Shoemaker before she married. She was kin to some of the Shoemakers around El Dorado Springs. Sharon was a member of the Harwood and Schell City United Methodist Women until the Schell City United Methodist Church closed its doors in June of 2016. Helen Ellerman attended funeral services for Sharon at the Hills Brothers Funeral Home in Appleton City Wednesday, Nov. 13. Mary Tomblinson, a friend of Helens, took her to the service. They had dinner at the Farmers Restaurant in Appleton City before the service.

Madalyn’s Kitchen, south of Schell City, will have her Thanksgiving dinner from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.  Thursday, Nov. 21. It will be like her Sunday buffet excepts for the meat. She will be closed the rest of the afternoon when the dinner is over. Madalyn will be closed on Thanksgiving day, Nov. 28. She will be open on Friday Nov. 29 and closed on Saturday, Nov. 30 and Sunday, Dec. 1. She will reopen at her regular time on Dec. 2.

Bob and Cheryl Ellerman, of Edwards, spent Friday, Nov. 15, in the home of Jewell and Helen Ellerman. They took Jewell and Helen for dinner at Madalyn’s Kitchen in Schell City, for a late birthday dinner for Jewell’s birthday which was Oct. 2; she turned 93.

Church service was held at the Harwood Baptist Church Sunday, Nov. 10. Brother Mike Dunivan’s sermon was taken from 1 Corinthians 8. Church services was Nov. 17, at the Harwood Baptist Church with Brother Mike Dunivan’s sermon taken from Psalm 103:1-5.
