THANKS FOR 40 YEARS OF SERVICE – On Tuesday, Don Fugate (right) received a framed certificate to commemorate his years of service as a board member of the Cedar County Ambulance Board. Don said he was a member of the first ambulance board which was formed in December 1976. Except for one three year term, he was on the board continuously until he resigned recently for health reasons. That’s 40 years of service. Don said he had a lot of good help and took a lot of phone calls over the years. Byron Hamilton (left) who was appointed to Don’s position representing District 2, came up with the idea of honoring former board members for their service. He prepared the first certificate which the board signed Monday night and he presented to Don.
