Hospital lifts limitation on inpatient admissions

Last Tuesday, Cedar County Memorial Hospital CEO Jana Witt   told the Sun that limitation had been lifted.

Chief Nursing Officer Marie Mitchell said the limitations were put in place because the hospital did not have enough licensed staff available to schedule the nurse to patient ratio needed to ensure safe patient care. The hospital now has the ratio needed.

Mitchell said the issue has become familiar to hospitals nationwide.
